Kentucky is Kentucky is Kentucky. Some things will never change, no matter who is coaching in the bluegrass.

true... we also said that about vanderbilt... look what a new coaching staff did for them right now.

Let me rephrase my previous statement, then. UK won't be able to do it consistently. No coach will have success at Vandy or UK and want to stay there. Mere stepping stones.

This is a great hire for Kentucky. I could se him staying in Lex for a good amount of time he has a decent amount of success.

Stoops<UT's future coach.

Dooley was UT's future coach at one time...

Then again we haven't even seen what Stoops is actually capable of. He might be a bust for all anyone knows.

edit: Is UL worried that Strong is bored of coaching against midmajor football teams yet? Maybe an SEC team will again debo your coach??

Sure there is a good chance Strong may leave, but it happens we could be a stepping stone for him. But then again with us leaving the big least in the next season or two he may stay.

Who is Stoops hiring for coaching staff?

All we know atm is that he offered FSU's OC, James Coley, as well as FSU's DL coach, Eliot. It's presumed that Coley would be OC and Eliot would be DC. Coley would be a solid get. One of the best recruiters in the South.

Some wishful thinking fans have Coley as TE/Recruiting Coordinator, with Neal Brown from Texas Tech at OC. That might be fun, but not entirely realistic. Coley and Brown on the same staff would be too expensive.

It's an interesting ride, but we should know a lot more by Monday after the ACCCG.

franklin will get paid and get a great job. uk doesn't support football so they had their run.

Au contraire. Mitch has laid out a blank check for Stoops to get his staff.

He's also working on getting bonding approval to upgrade Commonwealth- putting the pressbox up on top of the stadium, converting the current one into luxury boxes, recruiting room, and the like.

I think there's a real commitment there. Just need the Kentucky legislature to approve the bonding. They're slow to approve debt since Louisville built the Yum Center and can't pay for it.

I'd say those fans are indeed wishful. Two totally different offenses and philosophies. Not to mention Coley wants to leave FSU to call plays. Demoting himself really makes zero sense.

Keep hearing Bradley Dale Peveto as well.

Mark Stoops? Is that you?

How else would the Mods allow someone's first post to start a thread?

Getting stoops proved you wrong begin with. The AD has made it very clear that he wants the fb program to get good. After all, it generates the most revenue and we're in the sec.

Guess Coley would leave to have the opportunity to actually call plays if its true that Jimbo calls them. If he does have a say so in play calling then I see no reason for a FL native to leave his home state, at a way better program with gift wrapped recruiting for UK.

Historically Vandy & UK are coaching graveyards. Occasionally they get to 6,7, or 8 wins, predict great things and soon drop back to bottom of hill.
