Simple poll guys....Do we hold Vandy to less points than UK. This game should tell us about our defense. Is it coaching? Is it talent? No way UK has more talent on defense than UT. You can argue with me all night long and you will not convince me. Also, both teams are in their first year with new coaching staffs. UK held Vandy to 22 points and 313 yards of offense and turned the ball over to Vandy 4 times.

Vandy takes advantage of turn overs and a short field. They also run a lot of trick plays. (fake field goals, fake punts) They do have a good wide receiver that will have a good day against our DBs. I just don't think Vandy can win if they have to drive the ball 80 yards or more. Long as we do not turn the ball over on our side of the field we will win.

Different teams, different motivation. Hard to compare. We'll be in a dogfight IMO.

I hope so butchball. I don't want to see Vandy hand us a whoopin. I don't think they will. Should be a good game. We have 2 weeks to prepare for them.

This game will turn on two factors IMO. Which team wants it more and which coach actually coaches a better game and makes the right adjustments.

Not into trying to having better stats than another team we're not even playing that day. Last time I checked it's about just winning the game!

The reason I picked UK is two fold. First, I think both defenses are about the same in talent. Second, both teams are in the first year with their new staffs. To me, its a decent comparison.

D-Line should be rested up...no Mo Couch in the rotation had finally taken its toll the last 2 games for sure...no push what so ever like the play in the Georgia and South Carolina games. Plan to see a HUGE difference next Saturday...D-Line and our O-line play will be the key to winning or losing this game in my opinion.

No disrespect at all. It's a good question. I just think we will get Vandy's best effort of the year. It's so hard to predict home teams will come ready to play week to week.

No offense but I sure hope you're wrong with that last sentence. If you're right we're in really big trouble.

Who appointed you "The Guy" we need to convince or argue with about this. I guess you are self appointed.

I wish I could say yes we hold them to less than 22, but i'm starting to think Jancek is the 2nd coming of Sal Sunseri. Everybody talks about team speed, but there are teams out there with less speed that do a whole lot better.

Nicely stated. I've tried to make this same point in other threads. Whereas we should be able to win on talent alone, I think the game is going to be a greater function of will and want than talent.

I agree lets just wait and see which TN team shows up. Our offensive line should be able to move ky & vandys defensive line around like grandmas china. If they come out and play with attitude.

VOLS 48 Vany 6

No way u seriously think that will be the score. James Franklin and staff have been in place for a while now and Vandy will come prepared. I'm with most other posters....we will need to bring our A game to pull this win out.

It's an interesting question, but I don't buy that if we allow vandy more than 22 points it means UK outcoached our defensive staff. I think vandy was deflated and flat after beating Florida in Gainesville for the first time in 58 years and that we will see a better effort from them.

At the same time, we are coming off a bye, which Butch is very good at, the team gets much needed rest, and we are at home.

So I certainly expect our D to do better than Kentucky's. But if they score a bit more and we still win, who cares.
