It's a tricky definition. Zealots might be a better word, because the hyper liberals tend to be radical adherents to a philosophy or world view rather than an individual. There is no veneration of an exalted individual over others, no deference to the whim and will of a charismatic leader.

The left has been unable to find its charismatic leader in the vein of Trump, and the "do what you want" view of freedom ensures enough belief dilution that the group will never have the same cohesiveness as maga.

Thats because the overwhelming majority of white supremacists happen to be Trump supporters. But that also doesn't mean the majority of Trump supporters are white supremacists.

That's super easy to counter. Just use a sympathetic news source to show the accepting and inclusive activities and outreach. Problem solved.

They can't play the racist card for too much longer. With Hispanic and African American support for the Republican Party increasing they will use the term MAGA in a derogatory way when referring to Republicans.

They went out in mass and voted for a racist old white man who is more racist than Trump could ever be.

Second. Devotion to an ideology or set of beliefs is also a characteristic of a cult. Being devoted to the democrat party is devotion to an ideology.

Are you really trying to deny that there is no fanatical support for Biden? Go on Facebook and spend some time on Occupy Democrats and onTwitter and you will see he and the democrat party have their hardcore followers. Maybe spend some time reading the Washington Post comments as well.

Last but not least. Are zealots just as bad as cult followers?

I just find the Trump as a transformer (or whatever EO's pic was) or Trump's face on Rocky's body, etc to be a special kind of weird.

The most racist people that I have been around has been democrats in Indiana…. There are plenty of bad people on both sides of the aisles…. People need to stop focusing on the bad element and focus on issues that actually matter.
