Starting up an FBS program at a school with minimal athletic cache in a region that doesn't give the first damn about college football is really brilliant.
Georgia State here in Atlanta has repeatedly said that they have no interest in moving their new football program up to I-A in the foreseeable future. The GSU alums I know aren't happy about it, but it's the smart move.
I think they're open to it eventually, but they're not going to talk about it out loud until they're sure it makes sense. You can tell that they're acutely aware of exactly what 85 football scholarships + Title IX means.
