They are completely over looking us.. A thread on their board is "how bad do we beat umass".... They are going to be QUITE surprised when game time
Comes around.. Most seem very ill informed about everything college basketball

Reply: They're pretty cocky for a team who finished 4th in a 3 bid league, behind the same Georgia team who went 0-3 in Charleston. It must be their sparkling 4-7 road record which gives them confidence

Reply #2: Frankly, they're only marginally more cocky then some here are defeatist. This is NOT a good Tennessee team. They beat weak teams big. They lose to good teams. If UMass loses it will be because UMass lost (and we've see a fair amonut of this this year) not because UT is any good. They are not.

Nothing like establishing a pregame defense mechanism.

Gotta be honest I kinda thought the same thing about whoever has been starting the "so how bad are the vols gonna beat'em" threads. We are playing good but to assume a win is retarded let alone wondering how bad we blow them out.

I can't help but think this is typical VN. Hype up the game, declare it an easy W, just to lose to a better seeded team and proceed to freak out about how bad we suck.

Hope the guys come out focused,
GBO!

Cut them some slack. Anybody that's been stuck in New England all winter is bound to have a bad attitude by now. They don't call them Massh0les for nothing.

I agree, we have met the enemy and he is us. We are killing ourselves.

To many people prejudge by the name on the jersey. UMASS is a good team. You can bet they come ready to play.

Tenn isnt very deep. They have two quality players. I expect if we face them that DG will guard McRae and our toughest matchup with be Stokes. If we face Iowa... they lost 6 of their last 7. I really want to see us play Duke.

lol, they'll have fun meeting JRich

The only advantage we have on them is the fact we have the first tournament game in our back pocket. It is an advantage.

Neither team is remotely good enough to overlook the other.

Best analysis I've seen. They've been up and down the past couple of months and we're capable of looking like a Final 4 team or an NIT team on any given night. Either team could win by 10 and I wouldn't be surprised.

Anyone unhappy that we are in the second round of the NCAAT and favored against a team that is five seeds higher than us is not worth talking to.

Not according to them - they say we have no depth and will wear down.

That is their mistake. For the first 8 minutes, our players looked liked they were sitting on the couch watching the game.

Jitters, yes, but it took them that long to figure out that were playing in it.

The only thing I am worried about is depth perception from a Gym to an Arena.

One thing I have to give credit to the Vols for was their apparent superior conditioning over Iowa despite Iowa playing more players. I think a main reason the Vols won was they simply wore them down.

+1

I do believe we had the deer in the headlight look for about the first 8 minutes.

The only other thing that bother me was the quote of CCM stating to the players to find a way to get back in the game.

I look at it like this, he knew that they were in a moment and did not want to overload them.
