Simply put:

TCU is going to be running the Big12 for the next 3-4 years. Far easier to get to playoff. Patterson isn’t leaving that school to compete for 9-3 seasons. Also, he’s too old to go to a rebuild. If he hasn’t left by now, he ain’t leaving. There is zero incentive for him to leave. TCU can out bid us.

Petersen isn’t leaving the Northwest. Has had chance after chance and hasn’t left. Has shown zero interest about leaving the west Coast.
