UMASS vs Vandy

Well our little losers out west won a game. They are, without a doubt, the worst team in the SEC. Bar none.

See this is why I hate Vanderbilt. "Oh, we just beat UMASS? That means we're on track to have a pretty good year, guys!"

UMass handed Vandy the game with 14 points in turnovers, a missed wide open WR late that would've won the game and a missed chip shot 22 yd fg that would've tied it. That being said, Vandy had a very difficult time beating UMass last year with a senior laden team which included the SEC's alltime leading WR in Matthews and the great James Franklin on the sidelines .... it was 14-7 at the half. Either way, they both absolutely blow and both teams will be fortunate to get to 3 wins.

Really good article on SDS. Hopefully, this helps lighten your mood today following last night's loss.

Vanderbilt defensive lineman hugs UMass kicker after missing field goal

Vanderbilt managed to escape a loss at the hands of UMass with the help of a missed field goal in the closing seconds of the game. The Commodores were so happy to get the win one of their players actually hugged the UMass kicker after he missed the FG. Somehow, I don’t think the kicker really wanted a hug from the opposing team, who he just handed the win to.

Also, I saw this meme on Facebook that captures the moment in a still photo! :eek:lol:

Personally I think it's classless myself.

You celebrate with your team. You don't include the losing team, specifically the player that handed you the win, in your celebration.

I agree. Even if it's a sincere gesture which would be easy to misinterpret, there are enough condolences awaiting a kicker on his own sideline for an opponent to be doing that.

Douche move. Even if it was genuine, you're "thankful" that a player on the worst FBS team choked so your team could escape with a win?

Dallas Cowboys safety Cliff Harris did that to Steelers kicker Roy Gerela in the 1976 Super Bowl. Jack Lambert was angered by that and he planted him.

Idk if he meant well by it, but seems like a dick move from an outside perspective. Lol at Vandy though.

Vanderbilt wishes they were the Big Show.

They're a big piece of s***.

They actually have hope for their season after their amazing come back(against a horrible team that has D2 talent).

They think they'll cover the spread against South Carolina. I'd be inclined to agree, if the spread were 50. They're not hanging within 20 points. Maybe the rest of their schedule for that matter.

You know a team is pathetic when a vanderbilt player hugs you.

They've gotten cocky about playing Kentucky. Now, they talk crap about KY. Battle of the losers. They're so sorry that they think KY is cocky. Vandy is the most pathetic school in existence for football.

South Carolina isn't overlooking Vandy. They're in the driver's seat for the East. I'd take SCar and the points all day. This will be a typical OBC statement game.

I'm going to give the Vandy player the benefit of a doubt. Both he and the UMASS kicker are Texas boys. Probably knew each other or competed against one another at some time.

He didn't hug him.....he was jumping up and down talking trash to him when Lambert slammed him.
