Hey Hatvol, what do you think of Purdue? I know they are a young group of guys, but do you think they will go anywhere in the tourney?

Matt Painter has done a fabulous job with that team. I knew their freshmen would eventually be really good, but I wrote them off after they lost to Wofford and Iowa State right before Christmas. I would still be surprised if they won more than one game in the 'AAs.

They are doing well. My boss is a Purdue Undergrad Alum, and I made the bet against him that they wouldn't make it to the sweet sixteen, like right after that Wofford loss. He was very cocky about his team going far after this week, and I have a feeling he will be saying something now after the win at Wisconsin this weekend. I think they are making a great run, but I still would like to see how they play out of the big 10.

Never thought the Tar Heels would miss Bobby Frasor, but obviously Quinton Thomas is no Bobby Frasor. As long as Ty Lawson is out, the Tar Heels won't be the same team. Lucky for them, they don't play Clemson anymore and Duke until March so, shouldn't be a problem.

Their defense, on the other hand, is a major problem.

Yes it is, but nobody is going to confuse the ACC for the Big East this year so, suspect defense won't kill you in that conference. Maryland could give UNC some trouble if Lawson isn't healthy, other than that, don't see anybody else bothering them until the trip to Cameron Indoor.

Virginia is AWFUL. But they're hungry for a win. the tarholes will have their hands full against singletary tuesday night on short rest.

It may not harm them in ACC play, but it will certainly hurt them in the field of 65.

I'm pretty sure North Carolina doesn't face Maryland again this year.

Unless they square off in the ACC Tournament, they won't.

looking at their current schedule I don't see any game UNC shouldn't win up until their trip to Cameron Indoor even without Lawson, but Tuesday night is shaping up to be a huge upset. No real PG and a horrific defense is probably making Sean Singletary smile for the first time in a couple of weeks. He could easily torch them.

Singletary may torch them, but just like all season, he'll have to do it alone because UVA has nothing else.

With UVA's interior defense, Floppo T will also be smiling. I wonder if Special Ted (Valentine) will show up Tuesday night for an encore presentation?

As i said earlier, Virginia is AWFUL. but they want and need a win. UNC has to be able to bounce back from the Duke loss and double OT game. This game has most of the needed ingredients for the upset. I'm not about to guarantee it, but with such a quick turn around for the 'Heels, it's very likely.
