UNC is getting it next

Since they suspended players, took losses and went to the Music city bowl, rather than knowingly playing ineligible players and playing in the sugar bowl, they should receive 25% of the punishment that OSU should receive, imo.

Plus they fired the assistant that was getting paid by an agent.

UNC is going to get a slap on the wrist compared to USC and tOSU.

Seems like they would have received a letter last year. They have been lucky so far.

Agreed, but like TN they played it fairly smart.

Unlike TN whose underlying football violations involve phone calls and a few hostesses at a football game,

UNC involves agents and players and $$$.

USC involved agents and players and $$$

Ohio State involves players and $$$

Auburn involves players and $$$.

I do not understand in the slightest why people seem to not be able to parse the difference between an NCAA speeding ticket and an NCAA rape or murder.

If your school has players who are getting lots of $$$ on the side, and recruits who are induced to come because of $$$ you will get absolutely hammered. SMU did not get in trouble because of excessive phone calls.

The NCAA punished USC much harder than people expected. I know our violations aren't as bad as that of a school like OSU, but I'm nervous simply because the NCAA can do whatever they want. They may elect to punish everyone severely.

MHF I agree their apples and oranges but to me there's the UNC/TN way to handle violations and theirs the OSU/AU/USC way. One will rent you lube the other is a dry hump.

The NCAA put everyone on notice with the USC verdict. They are gonna start dropping bombs.

thats what i think as well. so is AU simply under the suspicious eye of the NCAA still, or are there actual allegations that are going to be presented to them. i was under the assumption that everything is "supposed" as it relates to them.

They have to. The only way their decisions open them up to any type of judicial review is if they are "unlawful, arbitrary, or malicious." If you nuke one school and not another for similar facts, you're well on your way to hitting those last two standards.

I can't remember if they've received a letter or not. If Cecil ever gets caught and they vacate a SEC, National Championship, and a Heisman Trophy, it will forever change college football.

The NCAA was asking for it, wearing that slinky BCS bowl money dress. I'm sure you'd counsel them in your usual fashion of telling them to quit being such tramps.

If you want to get off relatively unscathed, you damn well better fully cooperate with the NCAA.

That's part of the reason that the hammer was dropped on USC so hard. They BS'ed with them for years.
