Did aybody watch the UNC- Duke game earlier today? The Heels took it to the Dookies pretty good and in the last minute Duke's Gerald Henderson elbowed Hansboro in the face hard. It was the most vicious and flagrant assault on BB court I've seen in a while. The refs ejected him and suspended him for one game. Poor old Hansboro was a bloody mess. He tried to mix it with Henderson afterward but the UNC coaches and the refs held him off. They're afraid his nose is broken and it might hurt his play in the ACC tournamnet.
Boy, are the Heels fans PO'd. (I would be, too!) Suggested reading after you get through on VOLNATION boards----go over to Carolina Blue and pick on Carolina Radar message board. They really love Billy Packer over there. :)

Just checked out the UNC boards again. CRW said the nose isn't broken. I'll bet a lot of PO'd UNC fans are at least breathing easier.

yea i bet. I also heard during comments after the game Coach K said that Tyler should of never been in the game anyways. That cheap shop just took the Duke vs UNC rivalry to a whole new level.

The fact that the assault was on a North Carolina player means it was an act that should be commended, not punished. Gerald Henderson is now one of my favorite players.

I dislike the programs equally but still Henderson belongs in the UFC fighting Chuck "The Iceman" Liddel.

Henderson should be simultaneously awarded a purple heart while being prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Screw you Hat. Tar Heels rock.

And i saw it happen live, it wasnt a cheap shot. He hit him with his elbow. He didnt punch him. Bad call if you ask me.

your comment makes me sick. i would never support an athlete because he intentionally hurt someone with a cheapshot. i also just lost all respect for hatvol

honestly, i thought it was intentional. but i also think that it was just a quick reaction that he would take back if he could. its a reaction you just don't think about and don't even remember doing

I lost some respect for Coach K if he made the comment attributed to him above. Coaches who whine about who is playing when they are losing (Isaiah Thomas) should get another job. Roy Williams has no responsibility to make sure Duke doesn't suffer emotional trauma and basketball isn't hockey.

are you serious? so if i come up to you and throw and elbow in your face it's not cheap? it was one of the most obvious cheap shots i have seen in acc basketball since chris paul punched julius hodge in the junk

How ANYONE that saw the replays of it could say it was intentional is beyond me.

The Duke player's eyes were closed, his head was turned away and he was swatting at the ball. It wasn't even his elbow that hit Tyler, it was his forearm bone leading to the elbow.

To throw out the player was bush league and there is no reason he should be suspended.

Also, Coach K is right. Tyler had no buisness in the game with 17 seconds and a double digit lead.

that may very well be, but when you go up in the air and throw your forearm DOWN and away from the ball, it's intentional. gerald henderson knew hansborough was below him and didn't come close to the ball, he may have closed his eyes, but he had every intention of striking hansborough.

1. I agree that it wasn't intentional.
2. All the UNC fans complaining about this have the collective cajones of my dog; her name is Maggie.
3. Coach K, you have no right to be complaining about who the other team is fielding late in the game. Stop whining and start winning more games, right now Duke is still steady on the path of most overrated program in the country.

i'll agree on points 2 and 3, there is no sense in whining about it, it happened, it's over. and coach k certainly has been known to run up a score or two

You're simply wrong. He swung toward the ball and missed. It's not his fault Tyler was under the ball. There was nothing intentional about it. It was a fight for a rebound on a missed Free Throw. He couldn't possibly have decided that quickly to get a shot in on Tyler.

sorry, you can't convince me it wasn't intentional. and i dunno about you but every time i have ever decided to hit someone, it's been a pretty quick decision
