UNC's Hansboro hurt, Duke player suspended

Hansboro wasn't going to do a damn thing about it. If he wanted to get at that guy he could. He just wanted to get up and save face from getting put out like a punk. Hansboro is a punk and yesterday confirmed it for me.

You and Hat are both FOS. If this had happened to Lofton, what would you say?

If Lofton was flagrently fouled like that and stayed on the floor and you know then decided when there were 6 or 7 guys around to then go after the player I'd say Lofton was a punk.

Either you get at the guy or you don't. Hansboro waited till his crew was around then wanted to be hard. That's about as manly as Carmello's punch and run attack in New York.

Henderson would qualify more as a punk. Taking a cheap shot at someone and using the excuse that it was unintentional, would be a punk.

Never said he wasn't a punk. I'm saying Hansboro isn't going to do **** about what happened so why get up and act hard when there are people holding you back.

Just get up and go to the locker room and cry if your not going to stand up for yourself after you think you've been shanked.

yea i bet. I also heard during comments after the game Coach K said that Tyler should of never been in the game anyways. That cheap shop just took the Duke vs UNC rivalry to a whole new level.

I guess he should have thought of that before he called timeout, down more than 10 points, inside 1 min to play. TH was still in the game b/c Duke's players were still in the game.

I don't think it is cut and dry, but it looks like this guy did cock his elbow up. Not saying it was his intension to get the guy bloody, but I think it was wreckless still the same.

Screw you Hat. Tar Heels rock.

And i saw it happen live, it wasnt a cheap shot. He hit him with his elbow. He didnt punch him. Bad call if you ask me.

There would be no reason to question someone as close to the court as you CBC. Or should I say, Mr. Basketball Court Sweat Wiper Upper?!

UNC Tar Holes! Couldn't happen to a better team.

I was just saying i saw it happen. I didnt think it was a cheap shot. He was trying to block him. The announcers thought the same thing.

I guess we should all just call Mr. Henderson up and ask him.

Damn smartass.

What was he trying to block? Tyler's face from getting to the basket? I wouldn't use Billy Packer's thoughts on anything as some credible defense.

It wasn't his elbow! Were you watching this game with blaker and make up alternate endings together?!

It was more of a forearm shiver . . . not that Hansbrough's nose knows the difference.

Here's a rather humorous take from ESPN's Bill Simmons:

"Congrats to Coach K for questioning why Hansbrough was still in the game and inadvertently using Isiah Thomas' "he was asking for it" defense. And the Duke fans wonder why everyone hates Duke. If the roles were reversed, and this had happened to McRoberts, Coach K would have shown up for the news conference covered in McRoberts's blood, fighting back tears, urging for the offending UNC player to be suspended for the entire ACC tournament and basically looking like Jackie Kennedy in Dallas after the JFK shooting. God, I hate Duke."

I'm waiting eagerly for young Tyler to reach the League. That way, he can start up his "Psycho T" act with someone like Ruben Patterson or Zach Randolph and they can go Kermit Washington on him.

I am just sick of hearing about it. Hansborogh even had a statement about it today on ESPN. He said there is not bad blood between them..no pun intended :)

I heard that statement as well. He said that he didn't think that Henderson did it intentionally. If that is the case, when he finally staggered to his feet why was he screaming and trying to start something?

I think it was b/c the heat of the moment and he had not seen the replay...and prolly was told to say that...I honestly dont see either team doing crap in the NCAA tourny

Yeah, b/c he's a good guy and takes the high road and has been encouraged by his coach to do the same. Give him the truth serum, and he'd tell you it was a cheap shot.

Just about every single reporter I've heard has agreed it was a cheap shot (even Duke sympathizers), along with several coaches (like Wisconsin's Bo Ryan). Did you catch Rome's rant about it Monday? Hysterical.

I personally think it's great drama. Living in Durham, I get to see how vicious this rivalry is. There are way more UNC fans in Durham than Duke fans.

BTW, it's just too ironic that Kobe, who would've played for K at Duke had he gone to college, just happens to have a similar case of Uncontrollable Elbow.
