Serrano said weather might be only challenge at #Tennessee, but said he watched #UVA in Omaha and feels like #Vols can be like that. #SEC

Serrano said #Vols being California heavy in recruiting won't be the case. Said they'll target #Tennessee, Cali, Upp Midwest, NE, SE, etc.

Serrano said as much as he loved being on the West Coast, being in the #SEC is a different ballgame, the atmospheres/towns are incredible.

Said #MississippiState squeezed into the #SEC tournament and ended up in Game 3 of a Super Regional. Feels like #Vols have that opp. #UT

This is what I can draw from the first comment. It appears that Serrano has been reading our message board posts while he recuperates from the fractured ankle.

I don't think winning the SEC is likely next season. Getting to the NCAA should be likely. I don't think Kentucky, Auburn, Alabama, and Mississippi State will be better than us next season. And there's always one team expected to do well who tanks it. (Ole Miss, Georgia, Arkansas perhaps)

Great updates. I'm excited to see our baseball team be competitive again, and I really like the idea of the uniforms! Our uniforms the last few years have sucked. Our 90's uni's were BA.

Unlike with the last cap change, I hope they can get the new caps out for sale as soon as possible.

I have to admit, I never bought one of the new orange, white or gray caps. I had been buying a cap every season before then and some of them (especially the 93 cap) are looking very ragged.

It likely means we are going back to black caps which is far more traditional for baseball. Hopefully the toy orange batting helmets are gone too.

My miniature batting helmet in my office will feel relevant again.

Additionally, cost of living and housing in East Tennessee are probably half or lower than SoCal. What an easy family decision for him.

By the way, The orange jerseys Burke and Helton are wearing in my framed poster (Interlocking UT on chest) was my favorite. But that White worn by Pick is close.

Love the uniform choice, those late 90's jerseys were slick with the old school logo. Those monstrocities we called jerseys under TR were horrid.. they looked like women's softball uniforms. Sounds like Serrano has a great (degreeless) head on his shoulders as well. UT baseball is finally going to be relevant again.

Should have the Power T on ALL UT uniforms!!! Period. It's called BRANDING. That "interlocking" UT is atrocious. BAD DEAL! IMO, of course.

I like the power T as well. The black new era hat is one of only 2 hats I wear. My favorite is my green hat with an orange power T.

I agree. I don't think it's necessarily atrocious but the Power T is our main logo now and should be the logo of all of our sports teams.

I like the interlocking letters for baseball, simply because that's what almost all MLB teams do. I wouldn't mind an alternate power T hat, but I think interlocking letters are more traditional when it comes to baseball. Just please no more orange helmets.. please.

The Cardinals don't have an "S"
The Yankees/Mets don't have "N"

The school is the "University of Tennessee".
Tennessee is the state. The school is UT
(and Texas be damned)

The only reason other schools don't have interlocking letters on their hats is their letters look gay (UF, UG, UV, VU) or the another school they hate already Uses the letters (Alabama/Auburn)

IU, UT, KU, UK, SC, USC, LSU, AU, UA, UCLA, ND, NC, GT,

The Power-T logo is alright but the interlocking UT is superior in every way. It's classic. It's symmetrical. It's BASEBALL damnit!

USC's interlocking SC is arguably the most famous logo in college baseball. They're the only team on campus that uses it. I see nothing wrong with UT baseball having something of their own.

Agreed. I've always been partial to the interlocking UT. I even think this one looks kinda cool...

Funny story, won the bobblehead, autographed football and a scarf in Verizon text msg contest during the infamous Vandy loss in 2005.

Took 6 mos for the marketing department to call me and tell me I won and another 5 weeks to get the stuff. The 2005
schedule poster was included with pocket schedule.

Phil fell off my desk and broke both ankles the next season before the Florida game. He is glued and has white tape on both ankles.

I have one of those bats around the house somewhere myself. It has to be about 10 years old now.

I can't believe you do not have the CPS bobble head to go with the Fulmer one. :eek:lol:
