The color black is the result of an object absorbing all frequencies of light. All those light particles add up and weigh their feet down, literally slowing them down.

Complete novice move by Pruitt not to know that.

Including Florida. UF had a 2-3 year stint in the early/mid 90’s where they wore black cleats and they looked absolutely hideous.

It would appear we have many in this thread who aren't traditionalists. I do believe the '98 Championship team had all white pants, no stripe and black cleats. Seriously, if those individuals are more concerned with a flashy new uniforms than the product on the field, than they might want to consider being Oregon duck fans or Maryland fans.

I don’t think anyone wants style over substance. I think that this release was underwhelming. I’m sure I’ll get called out for this, but I don’t like the pants without some sort of stripe. I’m glad the checkerboard is gone, but I would like something other than a T and a swoosh.
Honestly, I don’t want a patch commemorating the ‘98 team on our uniform either. To me that’s 20 years in which we haven’t done a damn thing of significance. Celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of that great team versus Florida at halftime, but no need for a weekly reminder. To me a ‘98 patch is a Scarlett letter and not something to be celebrated.

Heck, Bama doesn't even put an "A" on their helmets, just a number with no alternate unis. That has not stopped them from building a dynasty and I bet not many of their fans are clamoring for new unis (although I never go on their fan sites, so who knows).

Can't say that I totally disagree with you, but I do think we look more menacing without the stripes.

I think white cleats are a bit sissified. If God had intended for football players to wear white shoes, He would've made them figure skaters.

Yeah, I’m okay with it overall. Never did like the stripe that faded into a checkerboard though. Seemed as gimmicky as Butch’s coaching.
