Unless Bama goes Rose Bowl, UT gets Shreveport.

It's easy to see that there's a strong hatred for Alabama among the UT faithful. That's OK. We tend to hate you one week a year, too. The Tide has already beaten UT once this year, and the two are unlikely to meet again until next October. So at this point, Tide fans aren't overly concerned when UT fans express continued hatred for their school or team.
For now we're busy preparing for LSU and Auburn, and then hopefully the SECC title game. Deep in our hearts, sure, we want to win out. Doesn't every team want that?
But you know something? In preseason picks, we weren't even in the running. We started at #26, or close to it. But we kept on playing with everything we had, and we kept on winning. We've had some hard-fought games, and the one against UT was no exception. But we gave every opponent all they could handle, and then some. And we kept finding a way to win. And now we're beaming with pride that our team is among the three undefeated teams left and that we're ranked #3 in the nation. It's like we're living some kind of dream, except it's not a dream. It's real. Some people say it's pure luck. OK, but someone once told me that luck is a derivative of hard work. I believe that.
Shoot, most of us Bama fans would have been happy with 8-3, and some of us would have been happy with 7-4. But at 9-0, we're so far ahead of what we expected this season that we're grinning like a herd of elephants eating peanuts in a 3 ring circus. Regardless of what happens in the remaining few games, and even if we don't win out, we're proud of our school, our coaches and our team, and what that combination has accomplished this season.
So go "rute" for LSU, or AU, or whoever you want. We'll just take the rest of the season as it comes, and proudly play against whichever team we are paired in whatever bowl honors our school with their invitation.
Win or lose, we're the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. And we'll be visiting you in Knoxville next year.
Roll Tide :shades:

I think LSU ends the dream this weekend. Bama players are talking too much about BCS rankings and championships. Mark down the L.

no no no no no!  :nono:

There will be seven bowl eligible teams (if UT makes it).  The Independence Bowl has the 7th pick, Music City is 6th.  If there are not 2 SEC teams in the BCS we get #7.  Rev up your weedeaters boys!!!!! WOOHOOO!

Wrong. The Indy Bowl will pick before the MCB because they did not get an SEC team at all last year. Their order is reversed this year.

you want a cookie? :lolabove: Congrats on the season. Lord knows after how ever many years it's been since you've been to New Year's day bowl, you'd still claim the Tide.

Just very typical. I remember after we beat you guys in 96, all the bama fans were getting on thier busses, saying the exact same thing "we're still Alabama!".

Just remember this, as bad as this year has been for us, we still have bowl destiny in our hands as of today. that could change tomorrow or next week or the next, but until we actually do have a losing season and start missing bowl games, we still won't have fallen to the depths that Bama Football did over the past 5 years. I seem to remember a season a few years ago where you guys were pre season #3 and wound up, what, 3-8? It happens to everybody.

So enjoy it this year, cause i'm sure next year will be a different story. Go Big Orange. Nothing like a smug Bama Fan to get me riled up!

Well, I'm glad to see a few (very) that don't all out hate us! Good post Bama Reb. I know it'll take a small miracle to pull a win out against LSU, but hey it's happened before. Good luck against Memphis. RTR!!!

All summer and fall on the Bama forums, the Bammers expressed sheer unadulterated hatred for all things Orange, including the very short-sighted hope that we lose every game. Now that we're adding to their strength-of-schedule woes (compounded by the likes of Utah State) in the BCS ranking and like costing them a bid for the Rose Bowl, it just goes to show that a Bammer would cut off his nose to spite his sunburned face.

Go LSU! Go Auburn!

can't root for bama champ it is against my principles. i hate florida, alabama, and now south carolina. the only way i would root for alabama is if i needed them to win to help tennessee, and even then it's hard.

Alabama finishes with 2 losses (to LSU and Auburn). Florida loses to South Carolina. Georgia loses to Auburn. Auburn loses tie-breaker for SEC West. Georgia backdoors its way into the SECCG and loses to LSU. LSU wins the SEC.

1-loss LSU is in the Sugar Bowl
2-loss Auburn is in the Capital One Bowl
2-loss Alabama is in the Outback Bowl
3-loss Georgia is in the Cotton Bowl
3-loss South Carolina is in the Peach Bowl
4-loss Florida is in the Independence Bowl
5-loss Tennessee is in the Music City Bowl*

* How soon people forget that the Outback Bowl chose a 8-4 Florida team over a 10-2 Tennessee team in 2003. Its called local politics. The Music City Bowl has never had a chance to get Tennessee and they will take it when they get it.

yeah, but i think the Music City has last pick, if i'm not mistaken, and i can promise, USC will be taken at that point, so it won't matter...if we're bowl elligible, we're in Nashville...at this point it really doesn't matter how...just so long as we're there.

Indep. Picks B4 Music City this year because they did not get a SEC Team Last year. I think if they have their pick they take the VOLS over SC..

allvol, I have to kinda disagree to an extent with you.

While I'm sure the MCB wouldn't mind getting UT in a year where they weren't expected to do too much, I dunno if they would take us over someone else this year, given the opportunity.

UT fans in the area might certainly go to the game, but they'll just go to the game, maybe get something to eat downtown, and then go home. Bowl games love to have out of towners most of the time, because they'll fill up the hotels and stay a few days, spending more money in the area.

Another thing is that MCB reps are always on local sports talk during the season here. They always talk about how they want someone who is up and coming, not a team like UT who has fallen there.

The MCB may not have a choice, but I doubt they really WANT UT there.
