That article says nothing of the sort...
Sorry that I did not word it perfect for you

While there seem to be no shortage of experienced head coaches who want the job (sources tell FootballScoop Butch Jones, Jim Mora Jr. and Steve Sarkisian would all be interested), Reed-Francois seems intent on finding what she is looking for.

Butch is/was a good recruiter of talent. Problem was, he couldn't recruit talent that fit together as a team and scheme. Talent only gets you to a certain point. Then you have to coach.

Why is why a school like UNLV is actually a good spot for him. In the G5 conferences, you can win simply by out-talenting people because those conferences are thinner and not all that competitive. He did it at Central Michigan and again at Cincinnati. Butch has a documented history of being a good recruiter, and there actually is a decent amount of talent he can go get in the Vegas area and into SoCal.

I think an upper Midwest G5 job would be a better fit for him since he's familiar with the area, but UNLV could do far worse than Butch.

Face it....we are stuck with his buyout because Butch Jones has been EXPOSED for what he is.
A Snake Oil salesman.
Not sure I would hire him if I were an AD.
I like what he is doing in Alabama.....LOL

Yeah I think it's best that he stays at Bama. We've been mad Tennessee continues to pay him but need to consider that maybe we are getting a good return on that? And the funny part is nobody in Tuscaloosa see's it. They're all over the place looking for a bogeyman hahaha..

He does have good recruiting history but here's the issue... Lies to recruits or players eventually catch up to you. By lies I mean recruiting players with a high star rating even if they don't fit your scheme or team dynamic, playing time, etc.... He wasn't at either of the previous jobs long enough for it to catch up. IMO we have seen a lot of stuff come to roost in his last year and CJPs first two that he was a blatant liar to many players about different things. He may be a great fit for 2-3 years but if the tiger hasn't changed his stripes he better have that next jump lined up that 3rd year.

But at the lower levels, you can get away with recruiting players who don't fit your scheme because they're simply going to be bigger/faster/stronger than the competition. You don't have to coach and develop your talent to as great of a degree at the lower levels - that's why Butch was successful there.

I agree with that concept for the first few years as far as developing players but my contention is that lies will catch up with you if you aren't honest with players and parents. I guess Butch would be lined up for the Peter principle again but gets to start at his level of incompetence so it should be a short trip lol.
