all I'm asking is to check it out...the affiliation between Southhaven Mississippi and the County of Shelby, which Memphis is included...educate yourself...be surprised what can happen when across a state line people can actually vote to become a part of another part of the border state...:)

GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one in Southhaven associates themselves with UT. Since your brother lives there, you should know it's like an hr from Oxford. Southhaven is closer to Oxford, Starkville, Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge and they all happen to have better baseball programs than UT.

I never said they did. Apparently fertile baseball territory and don't hear about the coaching staff trying to get into it, that's all.

Chris Burke on AM 990 when asked about CDS' return for a 6th year...

Well Vince, that's an interesting question uh...I could go so many different ways with that I just, just...to me if he's your guy then show him, that's the way I look at it.

If Dave Serrano is Dave Hart's guy like he said in the press conference then, then, give him security.

But I don't know of any situation in America where a guy has been a lame duck two years in a row. I can't think of a major three sport..in any power conference, I'm sure there is one, I know I certainly can't think of one off the top of my head where a guy's gone in two straight years as a lame duck.

Um...so from that standpoint I was frustrated because I just think it puts Dave and his staff in a tough spot.

Rusty Ensor on the same topic...

I think if the decision was going to be made to keep Coach Serrano, I wish Dave Hart would have given him another...I mean you might as well give him three years if you're going to give him one.

The rest of the Ensor interview is MUST listen, especially the part about how the sport is exploding and the chances of it becoming a revenue generator. Both can be heard in full from the link below.

Dave Hart said that Dave is more competitive than everybody else in the room. I'm not sure if he said "Dave Hart" is the most competitive or if "Dave" is. So was he talking about himself or Dave Serrano? When I heard it live I thought he was referring to himself... Dave Hart.

He was speaking of himself of course, he's said that multiple times...There is no one in the room more competitive than me...

There is no more telling moment in the PC than when he says, "I come from a coaching background and it's the same now as it was then...RECRUIT. GET BETTER PLAYERS THAN THE OTHER GUY HAS." He looked angry, indignant even.

In 2015 we were 13th in the conference in attendance. Hart said out loud that our facilities are middle of the pack and aren't a hurdle. (no one with any sense about baseball thinks we're middle of the pack in facilities.) We can't offer post season play. We can't offer tradition and we can't offer to highly rated recruits the proof necessary to show them they can forgo the draft and make more money after three years. To make matters worse, we can't even provide a recruit with the certainty the coach that recruited him will be here next year, much less three years from now.

It's an easy answer to say recruit better players when the guys in charge don't know/won't admit the problems.

Sometimes I think everybody involved is trying to operate with a 1950's mindset.
