The russians (who abstained on the UNSC vote) had an interesting comment -- why is it okay for the leaders of Bahrain to slaughter their citizens but not for Libya. Basically questioning what they see as a U.S. double standard. A: we are allies with Bahrain.
I've got mixed feelings on this one myself. Col. Quackers is a bad actor no doubt but he was primarily attacking those that were attacking himself. AFAIK, he wasn't randomly killing citizens.
Not sure we should be militarily involved.
Then what do you think of the coup in Egypt?
Typical short-sighted, criticize Obama no matter what, complete gibberish from you.
Anyone could see that the reason we went this route was to avoid appearing to unilaterally interfere in yet another ME country's problems. It has probably not been reported by your stone-age neanderthal news sources, but the key to this is the involvement of other Arab states.
This means that its not just the west coming in to meddle in others' affairs. This gives NATO, U.S., or other western military action the legitimacy it needs to both be successful and not act as fuel for radicals.
Yeah right!!
There could be other reasons.
The Obama administration has notified Congress of the State Department's intention to contribute $400,000 to foundations run by Muammar Qaddafi's two children $200,000 each for daughter Aisha and son Saif. Saif, you may recall, is the son who escorted the Lockerbie terrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi home to a hero's welcome in Libya after President Obama sternly "warned" Qaddafi that there was to be no hero's welcome.

Is it any wonder that Obama made that America bashing speech today at the UN?
"We are content and happy if Obama can stay forever as the president," Gaddafi said during a rambling, 95-minute speech
Amid his rant, Gadhafi praised President Obama, who spoke just before him. He began his speech by congratulating Obama on his election. Later he referred to him as "our son" and suggested he remain in power for life.
You probably don't want to admit that Obama and Quackdaffy's son Saif were the two top policical campaign contributors to the Kenyan candidate who, after losing, instigated muslim rioting that killed tens of thousands and dispalced hundreds of thousands from their homes?
Obama's close ties to Quackdaffy go back to at least 1984, if not longer.
You know what?? No matter how hard you try, you just can't make stupid seem to be desirable trait.
That is a great point that I hadn't thought about. Bahrain is randomly killing protesters and nobody is paying attention.

Who remembers 2,000,000 poorly armed black Africans slaughtered in southern Sudan during the last 30 years???
Quackdaffy played a large roll in that btw.
We have had practically no coverage of that in our media.
I ran into a couple of guys from southern Sudan last week, I expressed my sorry at the plight of their countymen and said I was glad they had made it to America.
You can tell what is going to happen by reading the media, if opponants of any regime are characterized as 'revolutionaries' or 'oppressed minorities' we will back them but if they are characterized as 'rebels' they are pretty much screwed.
My understanding is that Obama is sending some old transport planes.
I think it's pretty fluid and defined generally by the winner.
Remember the gulf oil drilling moritorium?
Remember one of the biggest rigs went to Libya to drill in the Med and the other to Brazil??
Where is Obama headed this week??
