Unseen problems with the playoffs??

Playoff game right before Christmas. Then another bowl game right after. Then potentially two more games. Unlikely that ther'r a lot of fans who can afford to do all of that. Probably not many who can make the first game. That's a lotta dough to fork over.

And an expanded playoff will be even worse. Even more empty assed 🏟's. 8 teams was plenty. A better idea was 4 teams playing it off after the normal bowls. The money train can come to a screeching halt. ....

First, the money will be made off of TV rights. This weekend is going to be a financial bonanza.

Next, I think it's a positive that average Joe that may not have the ability to get into a huge game can actually afford a ticket to one of the biggest games of the yr. Imo, it's a hell of a lot better than a stadium being filled with half of the seats going to corporate entities that aren't rabid fans.

Finally, I couldn't imagine a home playoff game in the SEC failing to sell out. If SEC teams can sell out their stadiums in Sept vs the directional school of your choice, I would imagine you could scrape up 100K to show up for a playoff game.

The other factor not mentioned in this thread - but mentioned heavily in others: a LOT of entitled ohio fans are done with their coach after losing to the Blue again.

And a whole LOT more are gonna be done with him after Josh Heupel whips his ASS on Satdee.

To be honest a lot of these first round matchup are crappy no matter how the media wants to spin it. A lot of fans just aren’t going to go freeze their ass off as well. Add in the economy not being fantastic and being a week away from Christmas and that’s a rough sell for a lot of families.
Right! Play these games at actual Bowl sites, warm weather or enclosed, and NO HOME GAMES OR BYES. That is if you really want a fair National Championship Playoff.
