How do you guys see this game going? I'll be there, anyone else?

I think it's definitely going to be a tough one.

Side note, they're calling for "operation garnet" lol

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Athletics Department and the Gamecock men's basketball team is challenging fans to an "Operation Garnet" for the final home men's basketball game against Tennessee on March 5. All fans coming are encouraged to wear Garnet to the nationally televised game on ESPN with a 7 p.m. tip time. Students are encouraged to continue to wear their Garnet Army T-shirts. The contest will serve as senior day for Gamecock seniors Branden Conrad and Zam Fredrick. As of Monday morning, under 2,500 tickets remain for the general public for the game.
"Operation Garnet" is the second organized effort of the year. South Carolina Athletics coordinated a successful "Operation Sellout" for the February 7 contest against Georgia, which was a success as the game was only the second sellout in the history of Colonial Life Arena for a men's basketball game.
There are several ways you can help make "Operation Garnet" a success. Single-game tickets are still available starting at $15 by calling 800-4SC-FANS (800-472-3267) or by going to GamecocksOnline.com. In addition, you can get a Garnet T-shirt to wear to the game at the GamecockOnline.com online store. Let's make "Operation Garnet" a success. Go Gamecocks!

I honestly hope we play out of our minds and lay one on them...They have had a beatdown coming and this is for the #1 seed so they will be ready...With that being said I really have a bad feeling about this game...I think we have a great opportunity , but since this is on the road and the way we played @ Auburn and late in Florida scares the crap out of me...I think we really need to take the ball inside all night and get them in foul trouble...Press until we cant walk and see if we can get some easy ones...Just my honest 2 cents!

If they play like they did against UK they will be tough to beat, if they play like they did against Vandy it will be a romp....but if we play like we did against UF in the first half we will romp, but if we play like we did against UK they will kill us....

So to make a conclusion, I have no damn idea, but it will be fun to watch!

I think we dominate them inside again like the last game. If we can cut back on the turnovers (we had 22 in the meeting with them at home), we have a great chance to win.

I think it's pathetic that they needed an organized attempt to get a sellout, which in turn was the 2nd of the arena's existence...

someone remind me how the first game with them at TBA went. I know it was a close game at the end score-wise,but how did the flow/feel of the game go? Thanks and I'll hang up and listen.

USC killed themselves the first 10 minutes and were throwing up bricks left and right... even easy layups. Then it even out... and stayed around 13-17ish I believe until the last 8 minutes of the game where we got either lazy or unraveled and then they couldn't miss a shot the last few minutes.

It may have been a different story if they weren't so cold early on - but our collapse late in the game may have just been from lack of concentration when you're up by so much for that long with this being a team without much guard experience.

This sort of thing is characteristic of us, as we can't hold on to a big lead on most occasions against decent teams.

It was good to see us hold on against UF, but we still gave up a big lead just like MSU and USC. I'd really like these guys to nail down a 2nd half lead and lock one down.

It is depressing to be up by 15-20 late in the second half and not feel very confident about holding it. It brings back memories of our Sweet 16 game against OSU.

Downy had 4 points the first half. Wasn't really close until the last couple minutes.

I think the problem was free throw shooting at the end of the SC game Thompson Bolling arena. All good teams have a few three's in them at the end and few misses at the line can tighten up a game.

We just need to button things up down the stretch run in these games. No doubt Downy will be looking for his shot, so perimeter D will be very important early, and late in this game. Thanks everyone for shaking those cobwebs loose in my head!

I'll be at this game. I will be at our last 3 games plus the SECT. 1-0 so far.

anyone on here going down to Columbia on the "Pearl Patrol" with Tony Basillio?

No, but I would like to know where that crew will be pre-game. Others on here (bigorange, etc) that will be making the trip may want to congregate. I'm about 75% that I'll be able to make the trip from the Upstate.

It's baby steps. Being in that game says enought about the direction we are heading. It just takes that one recruit with right nucleus and you are suddenly dominating, like Dale Ellis did for the vols during 81/82 season. That was the team. Maybe it's Hopson or Woolridge if there hear long enough!!
