We know the defense is going to give us opportunities to beat every team we play. It comes down to the degree to which our offense shows up. At this point I genuinely believe Tenn, when clicking offensively, is better than Georgia, maybe better than everyone:

Oh good grief, it's gonna be 2022 all over again. Kirby will be running his mouth all weak with his "NOBODY RESPECTS US" and "EVERYBODY THINKS YOU'LL LOSE" crap at practice, just like he did in 2022 when Tennessee was ranked (suddenly) #1 and UGA was #3. "THEY SAY TENNESSEE'S BETTER THAN YOU." Nonstop, over the loudspeakers, all week. It's his go-to move for motivating his players. I swear, someone could leave a packet of ketchup on the bleachers and he'd point at it and yell "SEE THEY DON'T RESPECT YOU." On and on and on.

I remember the video someone recorded of UGA on their practice field before the UT game that year. It was shot from across the street and the practice was behind the fences, so all you could hear was his voice. A non-stop expletive-filled tirade about how UGA was gonna prove everyone wrong and they were gonna show people how wrong they were. Ugh. Really wanted to go in and sneak up on them this year.
Consistent top 10 teams usually don’t sneak up on rivals. I think if UGA won or lost they bring their A game to a night home game vs Vols, determining playoff race. I pegged us at 9-3 best and possible 8-4, so I’m just enjoying the ride. If we just get offense a little tighter, we could legitimately win it all with the right bounces of the ball, which is crazy

Okay, yeah, I don't debate having to beat the best to be the best, but I would prefer UGA to be as unmotivated as possible. I don't think that's a wild concept or anything. Would have been nice for Tennessee to sneak up on someone and shank them for a change.
I am not worried about Georgia’s motivation as that is something we can not control. I am worried about our concentration, execution, and motivation from Heupel down to the last team manager. We can control that and that is where legends are made.

That’s all fair to speculate. I hope our team comes better prepared for the atmosphere than in 2022. We certainly have a more consistent defense and our offense didn’t show last time anyway, as they couldn’t work a silent snap count.

He/she ain't the only one. Lulz.

Edit: to be fair I brought that over from another thread and, that kind of thing is so common anymore it's hard to keep up with who's being sarcastic and who's serious.
Blue font saves a lot of misunderstanding.

Yes, and I for one am so glad we dont have a coaching staff like that. I do however want Huep to have them ready. We werent ready in '22, or vs SC, Florida in 23, or Arkansas in 24.

Makes me nervous going on road. People can talk about Nico on the road, maybe he will
be the great equalizer. But traditionally Josh doesnt play well on road.

😄 So you're a king (keen?) mixer!

Lulz, back in 16 I was in a thread where someone was talking about who was going to the SECCG.

I forget how he had it wrong but I started making fun of it in another thread. I got carried away with it and kept on until I dug myself in such a hole I couldn't get back out.

I think there's still people out there that think I'm stupider than I really am.

Yes, even with helmet communications, against that noise Nico and the defensive recipient have to communicate that info with the linemen, with the rest of the team spread out over the field.

Offsides penalties against our O-line have done the most to handicap us on the road. I can't imagine if d-linemen were barking counterfeit QB signals that referees could hear them to call a penalty.

'Tis what it is. We benefitted from it at home, now it's our turn to prove on the road that we deserve championship consideration.

The benefits of lowered expectations are undervalued.

The biggest difference is this year we have a championship defense which can put pressure on their QB and one which has a defensive secondary which can play man coverage. While your offense has sputtered recently in the first half of games, they have played well enough to Alabama and other SEC teams. If we hold Georgia to under 20 points, and I think we will, we should win the game.

If Nico isn't his old self, there's a solution. Spend as much as necessary for several doses of Josh Dobbs anabolic steroids. Administer dosage to Gaston Moore, and trot him out for the Georgia game. That way, even if our OL plays just so-and-so, the Dobbian effect will render the fact irrelevant.

But we had a graduate QB for that game and a redshirt freshman for this game. Considering his performance at Arkansas I hope Heupel comes up with a better strategy for our offense.
