Gabe Wright made it in according to TOS.Thats wonderful news.I had seen an interview this week that said he was wanting to come but had some other things come up.Now Chuck Smith needs to work a little magic today because i think he really likes the Vols.I saw in that interview that he was playing dynasty on NCAA 10 as the VOLS.He also brought a couple of his teammates from Carver - Columbus. No he didnt bring Isaiah Crowell. One is Quincy Mckinney an OL who holds an offer from us and some other top schools. It would be awesome to come out of today with a commitment or two.

The Dooley crew is not like the kif camp. They don't go down the list of Rivals top 100 or ESPN 150 and offer every player. I'm sure they want to actually evaluate him and see if he fits the onfield and off field mold there looking for.

agree but when it comes down to the big uglys, we need them highly rated guys that show this much intrest in tenn. you know they gotta be pretty good when the got got offers from alabama, florida state, auburn, etc

I've got a good feeling about Wright. He's been stated that his relationship with CS is awesome. His last visit here went great and it's pretty public. He's mentioned how he's playing dynasty on NCAA '10 as us. Also the other day when asked about coming here, etc. he said that his coach was making him go to a "stupid" Auburn camp but really wanted to come here. That attitude alone tells me that he feels more attraction to us than other schools. The future looks bright with us and Wright I think.

IMO, that's not the best way to tell if they are good or not. There have been a few instances where a player receives an offer from us THEN they get an offer from bama or uf. It's all about finding the player that fits our system the best.

And, good thing too b/c we wouldn't want to have consistent top 3 or 4 classes according to Rivals. Those teams never do anything nationally. :ermm:

Exactly what I was about to say. You save me a few button presses. :)

Rivals is wrong we have offered him.Imo if we dont offer a dl of his caliber its time to give it up.Scout shows he does have an offer in hand from us.

I believe the recruits pay more attention to winning or losing, and preparation for the next level than just where the top recruits are going. Just my oppinion.:)

This is probably the dumbest thing I've read. You do realize there were several guys that were unrated for a while that we had offered and had commitments from that ended up being 4 stars when they were here right?...Actually you didn't know that. You proved that when you typed that crappy post.

His interest in us doesn't seem to be affected by whether or not he's recieved an offer from us yet, so I have to believe that the staff knows what they're doing.
GBO.

Before you go blasting people you should consider the big picture of what he was saying, which is correct, and a well known fact that Kiffy would offer first and evaluate later.

That's not a well known fact. You're just as dumb for thinking that. Do you realize how many recruiting meetings that staff had? Do you realized how long those meetings were? Do you realize what time Orgeron woke up and went to bed because of recruiting? Have you read the book about how in depth his recruiting is? Obviously not, but because you posted more crap.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you clearly didn't pay attention whatsoever last year as that is nothing how Kiff's crew operated. They would go from school to school filming players and evaluating them before offering them. On top of that, you must not remember how long and much evaluating it took for them to offer a QB prospect and would go 100% on them until they committed elsewhere, and would go to the next guy

Do you realize your in love with the last staff? Do you realize you should move to So Cal? Do you realize you need a woman? Do you realize you should change your user name to Kiffinlover69?

There is a lot of misinformation in this thread. We did “offer” a ton of prospects last year just to get our foot in the door. That is how CEO operates. However, before accepting commitments the staff did very thorough evaluations both at camps and on the road via filming.

Hey guys, Kiffin and Orgeron are gone. We will take whatever success they had and keep it. As for me, I am going to back the present coaching staff and players to the hilt. I have no delusions about what could happen this year, but I believe we have some great talent on board that is very thin in some spots. The holes will be filled and more talent will be recruited. You DD haters or doubters don't know if he will be a success or failure and neither do I. But given the circumstances, I believe DD is doing the right things to get us on track and we will have to wait on the results.

Whats crazy is..these few on here crying about recruiting like they know something about it.Give any of them a job as a recruiter and they would be lost..if they were that damn smart they would have a job doing it.Dooley as plenty of experience at recruiting, hes doing a fine job for what he was left with. Our recruiting class will be ranked a bit lower because of all the linemen we will take in this class...not his fault.Remember..Dooley didnt make this mess..hes just the one with guts enough to take the job.The job no one else wanted.
