Update on Walmart Greeter

The City of Chattanooga shouldn't have to pay $21 million, though. $5,000-10,000 and the cop losing his job is reasonable.

the higher the dollar figure the less likely he is to get future employment. When a quick google search by HR turns up that his behavior cost his last employer $21mil, I doubt he will do much besides empty to trash on fair day.

Or maybe a Wal-mart door greeter position?:hi:

Forget the cash. Just give him the opportunity to push the cop down......a very long flight of stairs.

5k - 10k Just curious how you arrived at that dollar figure, what if it had been your grandfather or grandmother?
I just came up with it out of thin air. Seems like a reasonable punitive damage for the action of the cop. Just because he's an old man, that doesn't mean that he's supposed to punch a sympathy lottery tix and get millions from the taxpayers of Chattanooga.

yet the taxpayers have forced to pay this cop's salary for years. Let's add up the total $ the city paid to this cop and make that the award to the old man.

Agree. Only I would add another year or two worth of salary just because the city let a guy with past complaints of a physical nature stay employed by them.

Could drive home the same point with a smaller punitive payout. If the HR person hires this guy after he has video on the internet of this act, a record of hm being fired, and a record of him being a defendent in a civil case (with a $10,000 judgement against him and his employer), then the HR person needs fired for not doing their job.

Don't let cotton see this thread. he will contend that the old man should also sue walmart for not providing a safe place to work.

You can believe it. Where you work don't you expect them to take measures to make sure your safe? OSHA does.

What could they have done in this particular instance to insure the greeter's safety... had a police officer at the door with him to protect him... from another cop that attacked him? :eek:lol:

What would stop a random attack from an officer of the law? Another officer? Apparently not, there was an officer standing within 15 feet of the guy when he was assaulted.
What could walmart have done to stop this attack?

I guess it is time to start giving the old, disabled, and mentally impaired walmart greeters taser guns.

Yeah, we need more cops at Walmart to protect the greeters from cops at Walmart...

indeed, actually if everyone took "prozium" then there would be no emotions, therefore no agression, so there would be no problem,, either that or put up an ED-209 like i said, and some auto-guns
