He’s been pitching for the Owls this summer. We have had scouts at games, including when he’s pitched. However I’ve not asked any scouts who all they are there to see.

I think getting drafted is in the back of the mind of anyone who plays in college.

To be fair, this kid is a stud and was expected to go in the first 5 rounds. He is likely an insurance pick as I highly doubt we sign him. We don’t have the overshot money to do it. He’s going to Louisville.

I doubt many of them ever play SS. The best high school players on their team typically play SS so my guess is they are just drafting athletes, see who can hit, and then teach them a new position later.
