There was Curley...and then AFTER Shemp...there was "Curley Joe"

There were a total of four besides Larry and Moe: Curly, Shemp, Curly Joe, and Joe. Most Vol fans only remember Joe overthrowing the other stooges, but he had a relatively high stooge rating and was eventually drafted.

Shemp was originally supposed to be in the trio, but I liked Curley better.

Shemp was an original cast member and left to pursue a solo career as an actor. He came back, reluctantly, after Curly suffered a debilitating stroke..

Fun Stooges fact: Moe, Shemp and Curly were brothers, last name Howard..
