Good question. I understand that different recruiting services give different ratings to players, but the differences generally aren't that big.
I'd really like to know why ESPN is so VASTLY different from rivals and scout.

Tom Lemming --- if they are recruited by Notre Dame they have a vastly higher rating.
How come cobbs is so high? Rivals doesnt have him that high... They all (espn, scout, and rivals) differ quite often.
Rivals is way off on Cobbs. He is a 6.0 type talent at the very least.
Same with Corey Nelson and Ahmad Dixon. They are both 5* guys IMO from what I've seen of them.
Rivals has completely overated some prospects like Latwan Anderson, Chris Martin, TJ Stripling, etc...
Yeah, this is the key. It's all about hyping up their all-star game. They have about as much credibility as I do and that ain't much.I remember a Bruce Feldman article about Myron Rolle back when he was a top rated recruit. Myron called-out Tom for basically recruiting for ND, telling him that ND would be MUCH better for him than FSU. Ever since reading that, I have absolutely NO respect for Tom Lemming, or any of his ratings. ESPN's ratings are more geared to play up the hot team at the moment (UF) and whoever happens to be playing in their UA game. Sickening.
