you see as the db's are coming in to the tackle dummy, coaches are talking about being too high, even though they are much lower than the lb's in their drill.
Just guessing, but I assume our coaches want our lb's to impede the progress of the ball carrier and wait for their teammates to come finish them off. You can't hold a ball carrier low. SEC rb's will run through leg tackles or lb's will whiff. I think that's why they appear a little high on the tackles in that drill.
Again, just guessing.
smart assestment

they just need to tackle every player like they did lattimore no one will want to play us,

looks like we are going to be running a lot of screens

Which is GREAT. Most teams who run a "spread" (power, option, or otherwise) will emphasize an inside running game via power plays, inside zone reads, dive plays, etc. When those plays are successful, the defense will put 8 in the box as a counter. From there, bubble screens (and play-action: 4 verticals, for that matter) are deadly as the DBs are in man coverage. One good block by the outside receiver and Pig, Devrin, Bowles, etc has a 1st down and maybe more LIKE THAT. I'm glad the WR screens are making an appearance.
