Miami already with 16 recruits? Penn State & Notre Dame tied at #3rd with 12 recruits while we set with only 4 at this time? Northwestern & LSU set at tied for #2 alone with 13 recruits.

A bad P5 like Kansas has 7 in comparison to our 4. Western Michigan has 7. Wake Forest has 6. Northern Illinois has 5. UTSA(Texas-San Antonio) also has 4 & even tied with us. If you're human & a VFL then some real concern has to be setting in. I don't care if NSD is nearly 10 months away.

Admit it or not folks but we're way behind the 8 ball in recruiting for 2018. Hopefully this weekends O&W game will bring around 3-5 commits or more would be nice but we need some 4*'s & hopefully another 5* star commit as well.

This could bring us up to where we should be if this was to happen. I'm just not real confident that this will happen though. Thanks.

Don't panic just yet. Hell, we're ten spots ahead of Alabama in these rankings. At this point in the year, rankings are largely a reflection of quantity, not quality. We'll see where teams like Kansas and Northwestern are in a few months.

The fact that this has to be explained is truly mind blowing.

Granted, I haven't read much, if any, of the infamous Tony posts. Now I see why his reputation is what it is.

It. Is. April.

We could have 12 commits right now if we wanted, and people would moan and complain that we took risks on guys too early, like the last couple years. This year, it appears the staff ia being a little more selectice. Butch has tried several recruiting approaches, and with each approach, one faction or another of our fans have been there to criticize it.

My guess is our commitment list has doubled within the next couple weeks.

I agree with tony. We're far off course with where we need to be right now.

At this point in the 2018 cycle, we should have at least 7 hard commits on the OL and another 5-6 OL looking to commit and shut things down by the end of summer vacation.

Tenn avg star ranking - 3.75
Northwestern - 2.77
Kansas - 3.29
Penn S - 3.83
ND - 3.67

The others you listed are so far below us I won't bother to look up the avg. Quantity is only one side of the coin. Things will be so different in 4 months and more so on NSD when it comes to rankings. Please, just breath. I worry about you health. This can't be good for you heart.

Last year we had a bunch of commits and a low avg star rating. There was whining and complaining. This year we have only a few commits with a higher star rating. There is whining and complaining.

Way too early this year to whine and complain. There is no pleasing us but it's too early for us negas to come out yet, about recruiting at least.

Actually we had only had one or two commits before OCD and everyone whined about not having any commits, then we gained about 7-8 more 3 star commits and everyone whined "3 star U" a lot of those guys we had committed didn't end up coming here

Yes, some want to have a full class by April, consisting of only five stars including the number ones at all positions.

Rise up this mornin'
Smiled with the risin' sun
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Saying', (this is my message to you)

Singing' don't worry 'bout a thing
'Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singing' don't worry (don't worry) 'bout a thing
'Cause every little thing gonna be alright

I wondered when this would happen. For the last 2 years, there have been nothing but complaints about us taking way too many early commitments. Now this year, when there have already been indications that we would not be taking nearly as many early commits, it is April 19th and the panic button is already being pushed.

I can't wait to see what the reactions will be if we are sitting on 10 or 11. commits as we approach the home opener in September

Man your hard to take. We are fine. More than fine. We are not behind. Favorites for Lawless, Emerson, Litaker, Harris, and that's just in state. I have a feeling we end up with Teague. I think we flip the kid from California who is committed to call. Right there is 6 four stars. We already have Taylor a four star committed and Mays a five star. If we land all the guys mentioned that's 7 four stars ( which is more than we had last year) a five star, and two three stars. We are fine mystery meat. I really can believe you put northwestern in a recruiting thread. They have 13 guys committed. That is amazing. I'm sure there offer are from some major power houses too. Thanks.

Listen I say this I would rather us be sitting here with couple highly rated commits vs 13 3stars and get full and not have room for better talent. Guys can't have it both ways and we are not winning enough to load up with elite 4 stars this early in the year.we need top tier talent so if we have to wait we have to wait......this staff can't win for losing. Don't get me wrong I would love to have several five stars and 10 four stars right now but that's just not go justjng to happen with new staff and not making it to Atlanta. We are right where we need to be and not continue trend of 3star commits

I thought we were in a rut when we sat at 2 commits last week, with one of those being characterized as soft. Now we're at four, with the two 3*s being positions of need. I think we're in a better spot. I also firmly believe that whether we can get the quality needed to win the SEC is going to be dependent on how many games we win this season.
