Upset of the year

Nothing to this point in camp (and this can change) shows me we have anyone on our D and especially our secondary that can contain Oregon's QB (Mariota) and RB (Thomas).

Don't forget Lyerla and Addison. Stopping the offense is going to be a tall order. Mariota isn't DT, he's a whole lot better QB.

I think OP is talking about UT?
Anyway, Florida has been possible for several years now. The key is their injuries, specifically Driskel and if he's going to be worth a darn. However, I don't see how UT has a big shot unless they almost upset Oregon and don't get worn down by speed... by 2 teams back2back nonetheless. Then again, I haven't looked at who Florida is returning, or not.

Toledo over Florida in week one. It's a little far-fetched, but here's to hoping the lil' rockets can pull it off!

Come on now, unless you have been to several practices, and have years of experience at this level of football, I don't think you can tell "the way CBJ is coaching this team up." In actuality we have to wait till this team plays some games to judge how Butch is coaching them up. Coach interviews and the occational practice video mean exactly jack.

The High on Butch will last until after the Florida game, after that.....well, you know what will happen

With FSU on the schedule every year, UF doesn't need to schedule OOC games outside of Florida. Our SOS is always solid and our recruiting base is primarily in-state.

If you're charged with running an athletic department fueled by football and basketball revenue, you play in the nation's toughest conference and your in-state rival is a national power, what sense does it make to schedule a home-and-home with Michigan?

Believe I've gotta agree with the scared Florida fan.

Since this team has so much youth and inexperience at the skilled positions they will get better later in the season. So, I don't think they win against Oregon or Florida, not that I think we had much chance anyway. But might have a chance later in the season against UGA or USCe and especially against Missouri, Auburn and Vandy. I'm still thinking 6-6 or 7-5 with a slight chance of 8-4.

^ This...I'm with ya here. I don't think they win against Oregon or Florida either, but I DO think they can win against either. Believe we get 1 of 2 GA/SC as well. :hi: :eek:k:

Though some of my Big Orange brethren will think differently, this post makes sense.

To be fair, the definition of an upset is a game where the favorite loses. I think it's possible that UT might be the underdog in 3 games that we are highly competitive in.

Auburn
Vandy
Mizzou

I think we win the Vandy game, and i would be willing to bet we have a 50/50% chance in the other 2.

So far my biggest upset is all these pansies fans that believe 6-6 will be a good year

6-6 may indeed be the new norm for the Vols....it's better than the last 3 years...but let's not get too optimistic, we could end up at 4-8 and again looking for a new coach

If we are playing fantasy here, I'm saying we sneak up and upset the elephants in Tuscaloosa.
