Urban Meyer to PSU ?

GA or TN would be the jobs to take. The SEC is tops in every way over other conferences. A good coach in this division could dominate right now.

And they should. Joe built the program and, IMHO, has every right to stay as long as he likes. He's brought in countless millions (m aybe billions) to the school and donated other millions out of his own pocket. Anyone who thinks of pushing him out is an idiot.

On a different note, if this comes to be true, I win a $100 bet. Said after Urban left the Gators that he'd be the next Penn State coach. Guys at work think I'm an idiot and that a current PSU coach is a lock. Again, IMHO, I believe Urban is a truly good guy and doesn't like having to play the SEC recruiting game by going after a bunch of thugs just to get wins. I really believe that that is part of what contributed to his poor health. He's from Big10 country and knows that he can recruit the "right way" in Happy Valley.

No. Everything must come to an end and it is way past time for him to go. He may have built the program but he can't go on forever and he's hurting the team more than helping.

I think PSU could hire a new Head Coach and just not tell Joe Pa. Treat him like a toddler that plays with a video game controller that's not hooked in.

I think Urban is pretty good behind the desk. He's got a sweet gig right now but he'll for sure return to coaching. Hopefully, not in the SEC. No body wants to play against that guy.

The only reason JoePa is still coaching is so his son can have a job.

I know nothing about Penn State but for crying out loud, the head coaching job is not a monarchy and I doubt a legitimate program would allow that to happen....although Penn State would definitely be the exception to that rule.

I dunno...

If they do go shopping for a coach, Meyer would be an excellent fit.

If I were Paterno, I would feel guilty taking a paycheck from PSU. The guy is a figurehead. Nothing more. He doesn't even wear a headset on the sidelines or in the booth. He's a legend and deserves all the honor and prestige that goes with that, but he has to know he's too old to coach, and has been for a while now.

When JoePa started coaching at Penn State, my dad was 3 years old. I'm 34. My dad's 64.

I find that incredible...ridiculously incredible.

JoePa will be he head coach at PSU until the day he dies. Then every home PSU game will be "Weekend at JoePas's". They may even strap him up on a golf cart and ride him out in front of the players and home crowd at games, ala El Cid.
