GatorCountry writers and fans have been complaining to no end about Meyer and is over-rated preperation garbage.

Says a lot

Considering it was a complete 180 on style of coaching and play format I'd say they handled themselves quite well. Although I don't think his system will hold once fully implemented and recruiting won't be easy I'd say this might be his best year.

And yes the crying killed his bonus points on effort.....

Just wait till he gets some players more adapted to the spread option attack. There is no reason it won't be succesful. Talent is pretty even these days with scholarship limitations. SEC defense is not the big challenge everyone thinks it is. It's not like he came from coaching a pee wee team last year.

Considering the hype around the Gators this preseason, it is somewhat of a failure.

His 2 signature wins this season against us and UGA are hollow victories, IMO.

We turned out to be a subpar football team, and UGA was severely handicapped without their best player. Of course, Richt called a very conservative game that day, too. I think they could have beaten the Gators had they not been so conservative.

Whatever the case, the high-powered spread offense has yet to show up. Maybe in the next few years, given time to get players in that might be able to run the offense better, my opinion might change. But that brings up a question...Meyer has had short, yet successful stints everywhere else he's been. He hasn't really had to implement "his" players anywere else yet. The question is...can he actually do it? I'm sure he can, but he really hasn't proven that yet.

Considering the expactations, it's been a mild failure. Just my two cents.

At first, I didn't think the spread would work in the SEC, but I have to give Meyer credit. He made adjustments to the speed of the defenses in the SEC; the Georgia game. Once he recruits HIS athletes for the system, it may get better for him. So, I think it was a mild success.

As most are saying - a mild disappointment.

There is potential for the same out come (5 losses) that contributed to the hate for the Zookster.

Pre-season expectations were very high and the main attraction was OFFENSE. As someone else pointed out, UF scoring is down and UF has looked dominant in only one or two games (UK, ?).

The loss to S. Carolina and being taken to the wire by Vandy AT HOME all contribute to a less than impressive season for UF.

If you asked Gator fans before the season would they be getting what they thought they were getting if they were 7-3 going into the FSU game, I doubt many would say yes.

The question asks about this season - clearly UF has not MET and in no way has EXCEEDED expectations. That equals disappointment in my book. (Well actually, I'm highly pleased but I'm guessing an objective observer would conclude mild disappointment :p )
