Texas has culture issues that aren’t going away easily. Meyer wouldn’t touch it.
Tennessee has culture issues also.
Fanatics never see any issues beyond the Head Coach level and will never admit the coach does not control all.
The egos of powerful people prevent them from EVER admitting a mistake.
Coaches are the escape goats a lot of the time, they come in knowing that they can't save a program and then get their money and buyout and move on. Rinse and repeat.

Me too.
Shot the SOB off the top of my brand new car with my .45
Momma Bear was quite upset, she was fond of William Goat.
Was touch and go for a few minutes as to whether or not I would have to shoot her also.

I think you and most of the rest of the board might disagree, but I think Texas might have culture issues in the admin/boosters that exceed what Tennessee has.

Tennessee and Texas I think have pretty similar dysfunctions, except Texas has 10x the number of cooks in the kitchen because their booster community is much larger. I don't know how an AD, a university president, or other admin figure gets all those people under control and moving in the same direction.

Players refusing to accept long established traditions, fans and alumni upset they won’t. I don’t see this standoff going away anytime soon.
Ok, & i fear that is the case at almost every university, including Tennessee...& too much of our country. Thanks.

When Texas targets a coach, they typically get the guy they want or someone with a solid resume. Same cannot be said for UT. When the Vols have a coaching vacancy, history has shown it ends horribly. What’s puzzling is that Texas has hired successful coaches but continues to struggle or cannot get that elite status back. Herman most likely survives this year, but I have my doubts he can get the longhorns competing in the CFP (probably perennial top 20 type of coach). Vols and longhorns have similar Parallels after the programs moved on from Fulmer and Brown
