Just heard on WNOX that Urban Meyer has raided prior commitments from 5 different schools in the SEC including 1 from ND. None from TN thankfully.

That doesn't surprise me one bit. He will fit in well down there in the slimy swamp.

I'll tell you what. Once you hit that northern Florida border, both the written as well as the unwritten rules seem to be in jeopardy.

Let's go gator huntin' VOLS!

I think Urban is going to have the fastest rise to Public Enemy #1 in the SEC. I think he's going to make Spurrier look like a saint when it comes to getting under the skin of his competitors.

I think everyone who has been all giddy about Urban Meyer's move to Florida is about to be in for the hugest let down of their lives.

I for one am not impressed with Meyer's back yard style of play. If he thinks for an instant that his cheap style of offense will confuse and baffle the best defensive minds in the SEC he's in for a rude awakening.

I see him as a 3 year and out guy at FL.

It takes a strategy that is tried and proven that will be a consistent winner in the greateste conference in the land.

Even Spurrier's offense was figured out before his exit. If we can stop Steve Spurrier, we certainly shouldn't lose sleep worrying about a silly style that will only work against inferior competition.

ive never really liked Urban very much. i did like the story at Utah but then when he sold out all the players that he told he would be there for the rest of there carrers to go coach a sub par flordia team. it just really upsets me how he can just ruin there footbal program. i know for a fact that they had some great football recruits that just looked away from utah after he left. i guess he fits well in flordia.

A. He never told them he would be there for the rest of their careers.
B. It won't ruin there program, Alex Smith leaving ruins the program.
C. No matter what, Florida is always at least a decent team, they will be pretty good this year.

relax kid, think before you talk

no i get the concept. on a scale to 1-10 i used to hate him at a 11. now its just a 10. its still a hate at him, but i feel bad that when we beat him that people are going to say that they werent at full par. i hope he stinks it up and quits after 3 years.

Guys, I think you should all wait before you grab the pitchforks and torches on Meyer. Yes, I'm alright with the dislike of him simply because of the fact that he is a rival team's head coach, but I fail to see where he is breaking the rules here. Any kid that is not signed is fair game. If a coach can make him change is mind, more power to the coach. It's called good recruiting.

Now let's grill us some Gator in the Swamp!

because we're very proud fans......we look for any excuse to hate florida.....any dirt I get on Florida makes me happy :bad: :machinegun:

Dude, there are Gator fans here, too. I know how it is. I hate them. But I don't do it in a Bammer-like way and dig up dirt on them. I make sure it's settled on the field.

I would say that Florida really hates us now because we've beaten them in just about everything we've played them in lately....I'd say as of late its safe to say we kind of own them.....I mean we've beat them in football the past two years....Looking to make it three....Beat them in men's basketball....and when was the last time they gators beat our Lady Vols?? As of late, we've owned them in a manner of speaking....But I guess its more of a rival to the side that's been losing the most and right now, I'd say Phil Fulmer and the rest of our guys aren't on their mailing list for Christmas cards LOL

Meyer is going to be a big pain in the butt, both on and off the field. I think he may be a bigger jerk than (gasp) Spurrier.

He ought to. Florida is just not our rival, we are their rival as well.

Actually, from what I've read at SwampGas, most Florida fans don't consider us as a big rival. They're more concerned with F$U and UGA and Miami.

Personally, I'm more afraid of Steve-O at SoCar than Urban at Florida. He'll win some games, but I agree there's a good chance he could suck, but he'll win 6 or 7 games in doing so. But then again, everyone thought Spurrier's Fun & Gun would fail miserably. But then again again, most of the SEC had him figured out before he left Florida.

And Urban could very well do the same thing. Spurrier coached at Florida for what, eight years before he got figured out? That's not a bad run.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE MEYER JUST BECAUSE HE'S FROM THE MOUNTAIN WEST. From what JCVol just said, y'all did the same thing with Visor-Boy, and look what happened! He had you guys dialed in for a few years.

Urban will be alot of fun for awhile with his new fangled offense and Chris leak may be the best type QB for it. BUT! It's not the best offense for Chris Leak. i would imagine that this offense will have a great potential to get leak hurt...Daddy won't like that.
