Most of what I am hearing says its a done deal, even tho he is denying it right now.

Speculating that they do not want take the focus off OSU and Mich this week.

FYI--was reported on espn this am that Urban was scheduled for the mich/ohio st. telecast for saturday, but has been pulled from the telecast so as to not have the appearance of a conflict of interest, because of the rumor.

Called this one when he quit UF. He would have waited until The Vest retired had nothing gone wrong.

We've got 3 national titles. Urban won 2 of them.

While I'm sure there are some gators who are upset, urban owes florida jack.

He did his job while he was there. Left the cupboard a little bare, but I aint gonna complain

I think we can all be appreciative of the success he brought the program but still recognize the fact that he is a disingenuous liar. I can separate the two. His success doesn't give him a free pass.

About 2 hours ago on ESPN radio they said he is waiting to hear more about the potential sanctions.

Don't know why sanctions should be an issue. Slaps on the wrist shouldn't bother his ethical recruiting.

he won his first nc when tebow was a freshman, only coming in on 3rd and short and goal line situations.

Im not arguing that he is a good or bad coach. He has had success every where he has been so its hard to prove he wasnt all that great.

However, Zook built that 06 team. I remember hearing on the radio the next day that 21 of the 22 starters were Zook recruits. Furthermore it was the defense that carried them that season and Charlie Strong was a Zook hold over. Urban's offense wad average at best. Without Tebow there to pick up those 3rd and shorts they prob would have lost 2-3 more games and that includes TN.

08 was all Tebow.

There was a noticable drop off when Mullen left. And then Strong left and it seemed like the Zook years were back.

There is really no excuse for the quick decline. I dont know what happened since he was still pulling in top 5 classes.

Yeah 5 million is big money. That would put him 3rd in the nation behind Saban and Mack Brown.

he should be able to do damn good in the big 10 about the same as tressel was doing winning the big 10 every yr and going to bcs bowls

if he's got it in em to put together another great staff maybe he'll win another title

Meyer's a liar. The "heart issues" have been pretty much established as complete garbage now. This makes me wonder what the real reason for leaving Florida was.

I agree. He obviously also lied through his teeth about how important it was to be there for his children. I think something is being kept quiet about his departure from Gainesville.

winning 2 titles and your whole staff leaving is good enough reason to wanna quit if your not feeling up to it anymore he took about 2 yrs off(including the last yr with us) he's pretty young i knew he'd be back if a good job opened up

Urban playing the drama queen. He won't accept anything until he knows for certain that OSuck gets off light.

1. Another school with good in state talent, but no in state school to compete with for recruits.

2. The only time he'll see Saban is in the NC game.

3. He'll be getting paid $5.71 a year.

This is a no-brainer.

I've had the same nagging thought since he quit, too. Kind of like Michael Jordan playing baseball.
