If we want to have a political discussion about the killing, it should be this: whether we should have had (or *still* have) troops in Afghanistan for 20 years.

The dems are failing at EVERYTHING. They needed this and more distractions. The MSM needs something to report on to keep Hunter off of the front page and the lead.
Obama- killed Bin Laden
Trump- killed one of ISISs main leaders
Biden- This guy

All while approval ratings were plummeting. It's not exclusive to one party🙄.

Not to mention the drone used Pakistan's air space to fly into Kabul. As in Kabul Afghanistan...were supposedly the United States was run out of haha.

You people always bringing political "sides" into these arguments are hopeless. Such a small scope to dwell on.

Yes, I posted that and many others that are similar. I have since lightened up on the back and forth partisan political arguments have gotten us where we are today. The oneupmanship nature of political forums are a big contributor to our political divide. Its just not worth losing our country over.

I agree . The biggest lie ever sold to the American voter was that federal politicians are in office to represent them . In my limited knowledge of our history , there has been only one ( the first one , Washington ) that did it right and set it up so the ones to follow would have limited power . He had to be begged into taking the most powerful position in the country . Most of us have more in common than not , we normally grew in up in and around the same things , people and cultures. My first 30-35 years was spent mainly around ww2 and Vietnam vets , working union jobs and all hard core southern demarcates . ( I’ve seen it all ) . We argue , take up for , and defend people we put in office , that we would never hang around or call friends because they are about 3 levels above our pay grade and out of touch , by default from the ones they “ represent “ . I never knew growing up what a coastal elitist was , it didn’t seem like it was relevant to me or my situation. It’s real and even the most educated among us here would be look down on and sneered at as soon as we opened our mouths to speak regardless of our knowledge on a subject . I’ve seen Trump Towers , I’ve seen Martha’s Vineyard , I’ve seen San Francisco , why we defend the people that wouldn’t take the time to p!ss on us if we caught fire passing them in a hallway at a $20,000 a plate fund raiser drive , is a strange social experiment indeed .

The Republican/Fox effort to dismiss this has been hilariously tortured. BOTH Biden AND Trump were going to leave. The criticism of Biden, which is fair, is that the manner of leaving sucked. Totally get that and agree and it falls to him as CiC.

But now this repeated effort of "why was he living there out in the open" and dump that on Biden is just utter nonsense. That occurred because we left, which BOTH Biden AND Trump were ordering.

The two have nothing to do with one another; yet GOP/Fox are stuck for talking points and this is the best they could come up with.

Is this what's being said on TV "news"? (I rarely watch it)

I would like to know what happened. Did they get "sloppy" after the US military left?

Are you saying that isn't 100% believeable from the President of "big color pictures," ???

That report is consistent with everything we know about the simple-minded nature of Donald Trump.

I am saying you believe anything that fits your already formed view. Unnamed sources is not even a concern.
Your past wittiness and even debatable logic are a memory to me.

Trump is like an obsession with you. And I am not being ugly.

Not even close , we know Trump seeks attention , wants to look good , hates not being able to say look what I did … are you now trying to get us to believe he and all his advisers passed on him because “ They “ ( you know he had IC advisers , right ) didn’t recognize who this guy was ? Come on man !

But according to your tribe..Trump was killing the planet 😂

I don't know what "tribe" you think I belong to, but I doubt you'll find a word from me about Trump and killing the the planet. It's sad that someone who occasionally has some nuanced views still seems to see everything as "I'm Tribe A, and if you aren't in lockstep with me, you're Tribe B and we disagree on everything."

Edit: I'll add that you're starting seem like part of some "tribe" that says, everything that doesn't worship Trump is against everything you hold dear.

NYT Accused of Stealth-Editing Ayman al-Zawahri report, Scrubs Ties To Taliban Leader Who Penned 2020 Op-Ed

The house al-Zawahiri was killed was owned by an aide to Sirajuddin Haqqani

The New York Times was accused of stealth-editing its report on the U.S. drone strike that killed al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri, scrubbing his ties to a Taliban leader the paper previously gave a platform to.

The Times published a report outlining details surrounding the drone strike, including where exactly he was located in Kabul, Afghanistan.

"According to one American analyst, the house that was struck was owned by a top aide to Sirajuddin Haqqani, a senior official in the Taliban government whom American officials say is close to senior Qaeda figures," the Times wrote.

That paragraph was later scrubbed from the Times' report as pointed out by Pluribus editor Jeryl Bier. And no editor's note was placed on the report acknowledging the change.

Critics pointed out that Haqqani, who heads the terrorist Haqqani network linked to suicide bombings and attacks on Americans, penned an infamous 2020 op-ed for the New York Times about what the Taliban wanted from the U.S. in Afghanistan.

How UK Spies Watched From Harrogate as the 9/11 Al-Qaeda chief responsible for the deaths of nearly 3,000 people was executed by a 6-bladed Ninja missile

It was 6.18am on Sunday, more than an hour after dawn prayers, when the Supreme Leader of Al Qaeda appeared on the balcony of his safe house to enjoy a little sunshine and fresh air.

For Ayman al-Zawahiri, one of the masterminds of the 9/11 terror attacks, watching mornings unfold in the centre of the Afghan capital from his supposedly secure perch had become one of the few regular pleasures of his life in hiding.

He wasn’t to know that his balcony was anything but safe and that Taliban spies in the pay of the Americans and the British had been monitoring him for months – their knowledge of his whereabouts so detailed that a scale model of his hideaway had sat on a table in President Biden’s White House office for weeks.

And they were watching him again now, not only from Washington but also from a listening station in – of all places – Harrogate, North Yorkshire, after a Western-recruited intelligence source spotted him on the balcony.

The strike was carried out early Sunday at an Afghanistan safe house the elderly terrorist had be holed up in, at 6:18 am local time and 9:48 pm Saturday in the US.

An MQ-9 Reaper drone fired two R9X 'ninja' Hellfire missiles at Zawahiri as he stood alone on his balcony watching the sun come up, obliterating him with 100lbs metal warheads and six blades that popped out of the fuselage before impact

A US Reaper drone circling tens of thousands of feet overhead launched two R9X Hellfire missiles, nicknamed the ‘ninja bomb’ due to the halo of six long sword-like blades that were deployed from inside the missile’s skin at the last moment to shred the target of the strike.

Each reinforced metal warhead weighs 100lb and travels at 1,000mph, relying on the blunt force of the swirling blades rather than explosives to pulverise their target in an attempt to minimise harm to anyone else. Such was the speed of its approach that Zawahiri might well have heard nothing and his death would have been instantaneous.

White House Confirms it does NOT have DNA confirmation of al-Zawahiri’s death and got it through 'other sources' as questions swirl over whether U.S. had any foreign help

The White House revealed on Tuesday morning that it does not have DNA proof that Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in a drone strike in Kabul on Sunday.

Instead, spokesman John Kirby said officials used multiple sources and pieces of evidence to establish that Osama Bin Laden's successor was dead.

It comes as officials are under pressure to release more details about the strike, including where the U.S. drones flew from and any foreign assistance they had in taking out one of the world's most wanted men.

No, it's Trump.

Trump doesn't read his intelligence reports, but looks at the graphs, charts, and tables

Trump is child-like. It takes big, color pictures to hold his attention, and even then he isn't going to comprehend the information being conveyed.
