Move south. West Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, and others would be happy. But Uncle Sam might get in the way.

Notice I didn't mention Virginia, where I live (Vienna, Fairfax County). This state government sucks. Hopefully, that will change soon.

What I don't understand from an environmental perspective is why not champion cleaner facilities here in the US? Why let these manufacturing capabilities go to China where there is next to no attempt at environmental consideration?

I just don't understand the logic.

What’s funny is the democrats mentioned in the article act surprised by US Steel’s decision when it was their fellow democrats stupidity that led to the decision.

Why, of course, it's the Democrats stupidity. They seem to make all the wrong decisions in everything.
Why should Democrats act surprised by any of their ignorant actions when they're so brainwashed to always agree & go along with their cult's thinking of racing to change America into a total sh!t-hole country.

I was surprised that there were any steel mills left in Pittsburgh. I haven't been there in probably 20 years, but I remember driving by one closed and rotting steel mill after another when I was there.

Come south…. The mills in Birmingham are wide open.
Used to pass those big mills in late 60’s onward visiting family. The place smelled of sulphur. To say our environment has not been cleaned up dramatically is an understatement

You'd have to assume this is the same Heinz family that our chief climate Nazi married. China Steel can happily trash the Earth, and John Kerry can proudly crow about saving our environment.

Critics of the closure also point to the constant drumbeat coming from local environmental justice nonprofit groups and reporting organizations funded by elite, left-wing foundations such as the Heinz Endowments. These, they argue, are contributing to a hostile business climate.
