I think its a good report and pretty much on the money

This. I was honestly surprised how much this author knew about the program. He gives a nice overview of how we got in the position we are in - and how unusual it is for us to be down for this long. He really seems to be a huge fan of CBJ also.

It is interesting to see that they have Vandy listed at #74 but many people (in Nashville) expect them to beat UT this year.

The loss of James Franklin is bigger for Vandy than many are willing to admit. They expect their winning to continue as if nothing happened. Personally, I think their time in the sun may not be fully over, but this year is gonna hurt for them.

They can compete. Just ask GA Tech.

I follow MTSU football pretty closely in addition to Tennessee. They're very inconsistent. Sometimes they show up and look like they could play with a Tennessee or another Power 5 team, like when they spanked GT. Other times they come out flat and get mauled (BYU & UNC).

To me 68 is a schedule handicapped assessment.

If you ranked all 125 teams according to talent, I think we are no less than 38 but closer to 30 (up to 10 SEC better, 5 ACC, 5 B1G, 4 B12, 6 P12, 1 Ind, & 0 from MAC, MWC, AAC, Sun Belt, etc).

Once some of our concerns are addressed on the field (QB, OL, DL, Special Teams, speed, playing youth), we can move up from there.

Frankly, my give-a-$hit ratio is very low when considering pre-season ratings. That is one problem with the entire rating system ... it's hard to climb and just as difficult to fall. The first polls should be no earlier than October.

It's not where you start, it's where you finish, or so they say. I say GBO! :clapping:

I still don't understand the Georgia love. They have weak secondary. Yes Gurley is back but we proved in 2012 that offense only still costs you a bunch of games. Florida will be tougher due to their defense. I have us finishing 7-6 with a smaller bowl game win. But we could get to 8 wins.

A two game winning streak will do that to those idiots. They could barely beat us at our worst and I can't wait to start the streak again this year.

Fortunately for them they once again have the SEC's easiest schedule. OOC games are a joke.

We are significantly better than that. Imo should be around 25 or so. Our average recruiting class is about no.15. The problem is we play 5 of the top 10-12 teams in the country every year which leaves us with a terrible record. I truly believe we would have been a fringe top 25 team consistently the past few years if we played in the big 10.

I have to say its well researched and thought out. It's a nice piece that only cements my faith in Jones and UT. I think people need to give Worley a little more credit in general though.

This is a professional article! Not like the Utah State article or the Fox Sports articles in the Utah State thread. It was well done.

Article gives a good, realistic take on the state of the program. Better days ahead, but this year is going to just as tough as last year. I completely agree.
