Pretty much. That's what it was though. Consensus was us getting to the medal rounds was going to be a tough road.
Taking possibly the most talented hockey team ever assembled to OT in the gold medal game in their home country is pretty remarkable.
Sounds like hype. They had no Gretz, Messier, Fuhr, etc. Crosby is hardly a substitute. The 88 Canadian team was badass.Coulda sworn I heard John Buccigross saying there were at least a dozen hockey HOF'ers on Canada's roster.
Either way, my point was that they were significantly more talented than we were.
I have to take Sid over that classless punk. Not that I care for either
