Perhaps the CIA has known this for some time. I know there have been rumblings about Bin Laden being in Iran for a few years now, I'm not sure how likely it is but it is possible.

Bin Laden is actually a Yemeni but the family fortune came mostly from business done with the oil rich Saudis.

The basic split between the Shiites and the Sunnis came with the death of the illiterate, treacherous, blood thirsty, greedy, false prophet Muhammed.

The Shiites wanted a direct descendent of Muhammed to be the next caliph, the Sunnis wanted to elect caliphs.

That is the basic difference, all other major tenets are identical.

The Sunni Prime Minister of Turkey has said he has no problem with a shiite caliph with worldwide authority.

Bin Laden may be a direct descendent of Muhammed, his original homeland in Yemen is dominated by a tribe that does claim to trace it's linage all the way back to the lecherous Muhammed, so for bin Laden or some close associate could be named the islamic caliph so as to unite islam completely.

Whether bin Laden is actually in Iran or not, we do know that Iran has sent Republican Guard forces into Iraq to do war against us and to arm other groups with enhansed IEDs etc, and has harbored Taliban forces who are fighting in Afghanistan.

Even more on the lookout for the likes of William Ayers who opined that about 25 million Americans would need to be eliminated (read exterminated) because they couldn't be reeducated after the revolution.

Anyway when someone can't give voice to the truth then the enemy is a long long way down the road toward winning their cultural war.

While his momentary turn as foulmouthed intimidator (I can't recall a time when another President had to be bleeped during a televised interview) may reveal he knows the value of bravado, there is much evidence to show he hasn't quite mastered the power of fear and intimidation to actually get what he wants. Obama may be walking loudly, but he is carrying a very small stick.

Proof? Joe Sestak and Andrew Romanoff. While the controversy over alleged job offers to the Democratic candidates in return for their bowing out of crucial elections may not stick come 2012, what it reveals about the limits of the President's influence paints a far more ominous picture for Obama.

Or he could be in South America, to which many nazis and other islamo/fascists escaped after WWII.

If I had to choose between the two geographic areas, I would think it much less likely he would be in South America but it isn't as far fetched an idea as you suggest. South America has been a safe heaven for many terrorist organizations for decades.

There was a 'bin Laden' mosque in Kosovo for a while but they changed the name because it was a bit close to the Clinton statue. Bin Laden has a bosnian passport.
