I have no problem with them thinking everyone from the south are hicks. I think everyone from L.A. and a good portion of California is... I'm not going to say it.
Let's just say, a lot of the guys the guys aren't too manly. The type of guys that eat one meal a day, probably salad. Get their hair cut and styled at a salon. Go to tanning beds and wear jewelry, make up, girl pants etc.
I'd rather be a hick.
I'd love to help the cause...
Obama's a great president. I always thought the gulf needed a nice black tint.

Some Tennesseans support gay marriage. Me being one of them. I fail to see the point, in any event.
You have your own answer. If you support it, than I'm sure you would fail to see the point. He's obviously assuming (and correctly so) that most here in Tennessee do not support gay marriage.

No, you fail to see the lack of a point. Most Californians do not support gay marriage, either. They've voted on it and it has failed to pass, twice I believe. So his "slam" makes no sense. But then since you do not support gay marriage, I'm sure you would fail to see the lack of a point.
See how asinine that comes across?
No, I understand that the vote has failed twice. The original person who posted the arguement evidently did not but I think it is fairly obvious that he was trying to discount there opinions because of there opinion on a different issue. He obviously believes it to be illogical to support gay marriage.

Oh, I get that. It was just ironic that he was slamming them as being ignorant/stupid/whatever and holding up their views on gay marriage to support that, when they actually had the same views popularly as he did, and he was just ignorant to that fact.
Actually, maybe ironic isn't the word. Perhaps the phrase "poetic justice" should be applied.

I thought the same thing when I read it. However, I would be interested to see how that vote broke down county by county. There are alot of convservative counties in Northern California.
