As it stands right now, prior to any defections, USC can only take a class of six in 2012 to get under the 75 man roster limit.

per JNewbergESPN

Put a smile on my face seeing the USC recruiting situation. Although, we know that staff and they will make sure certain defections happen to open some more spots.

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2012 USC Commitments

They are already over that...

This helps us with:
Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick the TE whose thread is bumped, but more defense than offense.

The staff wants:
Ellis McCarthy - Yahoo! Sports
DT Ellis McCarthy from LA

Kevon Seymour - Yahoo! Sports
CB Kevon Seymour from LA

Ishmael Adams - Yahoo! Sports
CB Ishmael Adams from Westlake Village

Brandon Beaver - Yahoo! Sports
CB Brandon Beaver.

Tennessee has had lots of success with Cali players and our boy Byron Moore can help us with these studs. Would not be surprised to see 1 CB from GA, and 1 CB from CA

There # can go up if juniors go pro or players transfer. so they'll probably be able to take like 15. Depth is going to kill them over the next 4-5 years.

Also SGM, everyone loves rubbing your nose in Kiffin's misery. Schadenfreude.

I for one will not gloat about Kiffin's situation. He's the only one who has to be LK everyday. However, who wouldn't want to be making a ton of money with absolutley no pressure to produce results?

What does this have to do with UT?

several things. one you're boy Kiff is suffering the consequences of his unethical behavior while an assistant at USC. Also, because of his negligent actions he has bought UT under the NCAA microscope.

Secondly, our best defensive player is on our team because of this mess.

I know you already know all this, and you just lobbed that question out there so someone would remind you, then you have some comeback that you've already thought up even before you posted the question. So, let's see it....

We have gained lots from all these problems.

We still stand to gain more.

When you have a consistent regional connection in a talent rich place, you have the right players to host others. They show them that it is a great place to be and that being that far from family is not that bad due to vacations and other opportunities to see them.

Tennessee has had series for lots of time going back to the 90s with Pac 10 teams. To very few people's joy (but something Kevin Simon's dad will remind you of every chance he gets) TN has not done all that well against the Pac 10 teams.

Now it is the Pac 12, but if we want to keep getting the Julian Battles, Kevin Simon, Burnett, Casey Clausen, Arian Foster, Donte Stallworth, Malik Jackson, Byron Moore and Tyler bray type players, we are going to keep heading out to Southern Cali.

I understand your point but these three don't fit. And Battle went to JC in Cali but was from Florida and went to HS in Florida.

News broken by the school newspaper. I'm telling you guys, SI is all over this and expect a long, detailed report with OSU on the cover in the coming weeks.
