USC sells Coliseum naming rights.

Which is just dumb. Sorry, not sorry. Calling a spade a spade. There are ads all over Neyland. More ads on the jumbotron than footage. Yet someone draws the line at stadium naming rights. Silly and dumb.

It's dumb to you, but not to others. I do agree that it's less of an issue if it's just adding on to the original name but it still seems like selling out imo. I did recently hear that USC is a private school, don't know if that's true, so maybe they don't receive as much funding as the state schools. I'm not familiar with how that stuff works but if so then what they did makes more sense to me.

I don't understand why donors and fans would find more money coming into the school upsetting. Nothing worse than more money for upgrades, facilities and the like. Not being rude, I truly can't wrap my head around it. First Tennessee Neyland Stadium, TN Farm Bureau Neyland Stadium, etc, no big deal to me. More money to help make the south end zone concourse not look like it's out of the fifties imo.

How about Pilot Oil Flying J Neyland Stadium?

Jim Haslam played for General Neyland. If the stadium naming rights went up for sale I wouldn't be surprised to see the Haslam's or Pilot Travel buy the naming rights and keep it named Neyland Stadium.

I just want to see them renamed The Ben Hill Griffin Tampax Swamp and Bryant-Denny-Cheerios Stadium.

Naming rights helps in generating revenue to help cover the losses on many others sports at a university...Smart idea

USC has a literal f*** ton of donors. It doesn't matter that they're private. State donations are a drop in the bucket compared to donor money. And it's still stupid to draw a line at stadium naming rights. Especially since they'll be the same one crying over budget shortfalls in other threads.
