USC's offensive line was a mash unit with both starting tackles and starting guard injured which clearly affected Darnold's poor performance.

I noticed that as soon as Washington players get the ball the go vertical immediately and deliberately. Even the RB would get vertical to get a couple yards if it looked like trying to go down the line was iffy and a no gain/loss was possible.

I mean, they did burn a timeout before a critical 3rd and 12 to get a better play call and then they came out and ran a...draw that got stuffed in the backfield.

The announcers had a field day with that one, and even the Wazzu crowd was perplexed at that call.

I thought maybe it was because they hadn't beat them in a long time, but this is their 3rd win over BYU since 2010, so I don't know. I know BYU has dominated the rivalry the past 50 years but still.

It's because their whole identity is in hating BYU. BYU doesn't give a **** about them. They reserve their hate for Utah. Utah is the twin brother who is better than them and Utah St is the slightly handicapped, younger, step brother.
