This is my first game at Neyland. I will be taking a half day at work that Friday and driving down Friday evening. Slam a few beers, hit the hay, roll out at 8, start again.

Anyone interested in meeting up?

We'll be there bright and early, even for the Vol walk. That should be at 9:45. They need a big crowd for that too! GBO!!!!

Good grief, I just saw you're coming from Pegram. You may want to make that 5:30 because you never know what you're going to run into coming THRU Nashville. I assumed east of Nashville since I'm from Mt. Juliet originally, but, PEgram is still a good jump away from MJ, and it's 165 miles from Mt. J.

I will probably leave around 5 to be honest. That way I should be getting there about an hour before kick off.

Being the game is at noon I'm glad I'm not in charge of the tailgate and simply get to show up. I see about a 10:30 arrival and screwdriver in hand by 10:31.

You should drive down on Friday if you can and stay somewhere.

You can get a Motel 6 for $65 at the most.

My husband changed our Saturday night reservations to Friday but rooms are hard to come by evidently.. we don't mind getting up before the crack of dawn but that sure makes for a long day, especially driving back after the game.

GO VOLS..
GO BIG ORANGE ...

You should definitely try to get there before that...especially with this being your first time. You'll need to find somewhere to park, walk to the stadium, and then get into the stadium and to your seat. Depending on where you park, getting to the stadium and in your seat could take over an hour. And with this being your first game, I'd try to be in my seat at least a half hour before kick off.

And if there's anyway possible, you'd probably really enjoy checking out the Vol Walk.

This actually might be the perfect Saturday to take my 6 year old son to his first Vol game. He's been to several Titans' games, so I know he can handle being there for 4 quarters. But I keep telling him that the Titans games are nowhere near the same as Vols' games.

I am surprised by this! I understand the early kickoff time if we are playing a cupcake team, but this is definitely a better SEC matchup. The noon kickoff time will prevent a lot of UT fans from attending the game. I live in Knoxville and I work every Saturday, so unless this game is slotted in the evening or late I don't even have a chance to go.

I was thinking about doing that. I was wanting to leave right after work on Friday and find a hotel in pigeon forge that night. That way there won't really be a rush on Saturday.

I want to see the Vol walk soooo bad. I would just need someone's help to find where it's at lol.

The Vol Walk -- the football team's walk to Neyland Stadium -- begins 2 hours and 15 minutes before kickoff at the Torchbearer statue in Circle Park on Volunteer Drive. It continues down Peyton Manning Pass before turning left on Phillip Fulmer Way and into the stadium through Gate 21A
