Using EB's #14 to get big time DB recruits?

I honestly think if it's going to become a strong tradition, that it can't be given out every year. I think that it can be promised to a newcomer, but that newcomer has to deserve it. Just because the previous "14" graduates (or leaves) doesn't mean that someone is guaranteed it the following year. Seriously...I almost think that a great thing to do would be to bring him back for the "crowning" of the new 14. Imagine in 20 years having 4 pro-bowl caliber SS's coming back to congradulate a new freshman on receiving such an honor...

I also don't like retired jerseys. I don't mind recognizing the greats in a ring of honor or monuments.
