QBs looked to be pretty accurate. Didn't really see anything else that stood out. OL looked small. DL looked undersized but quick.

Anyone notice former Vol CB Daniel Gray who seemed confused on the sideline? Haha

Oh I wasn't aware of that. I just know on all of the game discussion I read I see where we talk a lot about keeton being a weapon.

He sucked

Lmao.. I wouldn't down a former vol though.

Basically he was a three star recruit. Played back up in 8 games as a freshman here an we were lit up through the air. We got some higher touted recruits and he realized competition would beat him and he left while the getting was good. Basically he wasn't sec material and is now starting where he is.

Reasonable response.

Thanks!

I'm sure he did.

He played in 8 games and started 1 at corner as a true freshman. Is that accurate?

I would think that does not happen at an SEC school like UT too often.

To be honest yes lately. Last hear we started a true freshman in every game. He was nearly a shut down corner though. I mean no disrespect to gray and wish him the best, but this year the true freshman looked the part. We have some freak athletes in the secondary coming in this year. In a few years I can't wait to see what happens.

What's the Vol version of the story on Gray?

I'm not gonna bash the kid, but long story short he just didn't really have what it took to hack it in the SEC. Fast and had some decent offers out of high school (3-star), but like with Pat Martin, SEC ball just wasn't for him. Was replaced by another 3-star true freshman CB who will be playing on Sundays one day.

Fair enough. I appreciate your assessment. Hopefully he has found a better fit and can reach his potential here.

Recruiting and playing time are an interesting balance even at a school like Utah State. I imagine it really can get messy in an SEC program.

Every recruit you guys sign, shows up thinking they are gonna be all american and shake up the world.

The reality is that the numbers don't work that way. If about 50% of your guys end up being solid contributors, you are recruiting decently well.
