ESPN had us at 12, but we filled some glaring needs at the SG and PG positions, plus Maze as a 3 star by Rivals is quite underrated, in my opinion. I think we are in good shape, but do need Chism, Williams, Woolridge....etc to do some big things inside for us.

It also might be worth noting that the SEC finished as the top conference in Rivals recruiting for this class. Let's us know that the competition will be tough in the next few years, which is a good thing. Surprisingly, Vandy ended with a darn good class, which continues to make the Eastern division of the SEC extremely competitive. By the way, the ACC was down the list this year.

UK 6th in the SEC and 4th in the East. :eek:lol: And, that includes Liggins.

Yea with UT, UF, BAMA, UGA, ARKY, VANDY, UK all in the top 30, the SEC looks strong.

I think UK's commitments for the next 3-4 years shows some desperation. How can you really know how an eight or ninth grader is going to develop before getting to college? If they get to UK and they are studs, then so be it............I will give them credit. However, I still think getting commitments from all these youngsters is a risky proposition at best.

I'm talking about their 09 and 10 commitments

It really doesn't matter. It just goes to show that Duke isn't the recruiting machine they once were.

actually it does matter. They didn't have many schollies to fill so they weren't going to have a big recruiting season. See what happens the next two years, then you might be able to make that assumption, but I doubt it.

it definitely matters. If you've only got a few scholarships you're not going to be ranked highly. If Duke signed 2 *** players and 2 ** players then yeah, you can definitely make that point.

as further evidenced by where Elliot Williams chose to play.

Duke = 26th ranking in last years class and 27th this year.

Tennessee = 24th ranking in last years class and 10th this year.

Duke should be able to sell itself and get at least 2 Top 25 players in their classes. They got the 16th and then went all the way down to the 101st. That's a big gap to me.

and it's because they didn't have many holes to fill. It's hard to get the top players and tell them they aren't going to play for two years. If Tennessee had really jumped them in the food chain, Elliot Williams would be moving to Knoxville, not Durham.

Once again, who cares?? We got the number 5 player in the country. When have we EVER got someone ranked that high??

also factor in that K isn't going to go after the guys that will leave after one year.

good call. Change the subject since you can't win. I never said anything about UT's recruiting class. Just pointing out after next year when Duke has some serious holes to start filling, they'll be back in the top ten easily and most likely top 5.

and btw, duke had the 8th best recruiting class in the nation last year per rivals and 6th per scout.

Yeah I noticed that after I realized it was an updated list from this year. Thing is, UNC signed 4 players and was still almost Top 10. My whole point is, Duke should be Top 15 each year and they are not. Most of the Top 25 also signed at least 2 Top 100 players. It just seems like Duke isn't the team it used to be.

Duke and UNC will get athletes when they need them, don't you worry. I'm just thrilled with our BB recruiting success.
