UT Board of Trustees very Unhappy with Basketball situation

Perhaps pressure from the trustees and others forced Hamilton to change the media focus from UT keeping an unethical, lying coach to removing that coach and letting other coaches know there will be an opening at UT in the very near future. The timing is questionable, but perhaps there is a need to get the season over and move quickly with naming a new coach.

I think most of these guys need firing as well or dismissed . Tennessee needs a new board of trustees , ran by people that know WTF they're doing.

I'd say that's off base. I know one well and have met another. They are thoughtful people.

They are thoughtful people who hold the integrity and image of the university above support for Pearl. Finally some reasonable people have said enough is enough and let's move forward with another direction for the basketball program.

Who needs a source to know that the BOT are not happy with the sistution that Pearl has placed UT in? I doubt they came out an let Hamilton know in some top secret insiders only special meeting yesterday.

No one who cares about UT basketball is happy with the current situation. Unless you have forgotten, UT publicly supported keeping Pearl until yesterday. I guess you also didn't expect Hamilton to make a public statement that Pearl may not return as coach yesterday either. Believe what ever you wish. I found it to be very interesting that the trustees were making a statement that the program needed a different direction and Hamilton publicly makes an announcement that Pearl may not return and the board of trustees and others would be involved in the ultimate decision.

Calculated move in my opinion.

Was his apology this morning calculated in that calculation? You guys thinking this read too much fiction. He went somewhere he didn't want or need to go and tried to reel it back in at the end. It's really simple. He effed up, again. Smart people aren't immune to making horrible decisions

His apology was to the players and coaches. No problem with telling them he didn't want this to take away from their tournament experience. However, they now know the handwriting on the wall. Perhaps it will actually inspire them to win one for the gipper. Who knows?

A source informed me today that the University board of trustees has made Hamilton aware that they are very unhappy with the basketball situation. This could be the reason Hamilton went public today. He may have wanted those in power to clearly understand where this is headed from his position on the matter.
Anyone with half a brain is unhappy with this entire situation which is 100% BP's fault. I was one of his biggest fans, until he proved he has zero integrity. He not only lied, he had his staff lie and even ask recruits and their families to lie. The sooner UT cans his ass the better. End of story.
