Do you feel any less about yourself because you don't know where Purdue is? Or do you think the fine folks at Purdue feel any less about you? I hope not, and I doubt it.

My point was his "polling" of where Vandy is was pretty pointless.

it proves plenty. Despite all of Franklin's whining, Vandy is still on the level of NW and Temple. Nobody cares and neither should UT fans

The only ones paying attention to Franklin are UT fans. I would be willing to bet if you went to the UGA, UF, Bama, LSU, & Auburn's boards you would have to dig deep to find a thread about Vandy/ Franklin.

still means nothing. There are more posts on VN about black jerseys and the majestic reign of Fulmer than there will ever be about Vandy. Do you view those as the 2 most important issues facing UT football?

Absolutely not, but there are many on here that get wound up over Vandy/Franklin. Just start a thread with the title of "Franklin" and see how many views and responses it gets.

But I got a feeling he can beat the Vandys, Missouris, Kentuckys, and maybe even South Carolinas and Georgias.

I have no worries about Vandy.

i agree that many of our fans are obsessed with james franklin, however a guilty pleasure of mine is searching #james franklin on twitter and watch our fans dog him.
I personally wouldnt do it, but some of them are hilarious.

I think you're missing the point. Fulmer has something to do with UT, Franklin doesn't. There is an awful lot of pant wetting on here every time his name is mentioned.

As I mentioned earlier, Franklin is getting the same reaction from some UT fans as Spurrier did when he was at UF....but UF won! Vandy is Vandy.

For some Tennessee fans, Franklin may be as polarizing a figure as Kiffin was perceived to be by much of the SEC. Personally, I believe that the response seen here is more indicative of the fact that we have been witnessing one of those rare historical convergences of a major downturn in Tennessee football fortunes and a significant uptick in those of Vandy's. I do see one significant difference, however, in your comparison between Franklin and Spurrier's tenure at Florida. Florida was a powerhouse then and losing to them consistently, although profoundly irritating, was no disgrace. Losing to Vanderbilt, on the other hand, is the ultimate indignity that any Tennessee player or fan can experience.

By the time we are playing vandy. We will have the Oregon pace offense. I want to see vandy and other teams being ran down in the 4th quarter.
