UT - Georgia, By The Numbers

Vandy and Bama would be good wins, but their RPIs aren't good enough to jump us into the 40s.
We've got too many really bad losses pulling us down.

I had posted this somewhere curious on you thoughts as you seem pretty knowledgeable on this topic. Seth Davis brought this up I believe because he made a comment that he thinks Tennessee surprises some people and gets in. He said te NCAA committee takes into consideration injuries, if you had some bad losse but were missing a key player if that player is back now they take that into consideration. Will they take into consideration the addition of stokes? If this team proves to be a much better team and get some big wins do they look at how we've played lately and look over some of the bad losses when we didn't have stokes?

Curious on your thoughts, thanks!

Road wins will bump up the RPI. UGA isn't a great opponent, but winning on the road will start helping it.

Gotta take them one at a time. We aren't good enough to where we can just show up and beat anyone.

No this team should overlook nobody. They tried getting by with that earlier in the year and it didn't work. I think they are much more focused now and listening to ccm. We will see how they come out, it should be telling.

Right now the only stat that matters is 0-4. Until we actually do it, I'm gonna adopt the State Motto of our newest conference member. "Show me." I just don't want to be disappointed.

It starts with RPI.
I was basing my argument on rankings from a week ago.
Vandy and Bama have come up a bit so those wins could be more significant.
I've provided an article that supports your argument and also the current RPI rankings.
From what I'm seeing we have to avoid any losses to GA , Aub and SC to have a chance.

Oh I am in no way saying they are gonna make it in with the wins I stated just curious to opinions. I'd be an idiot if I was trying to argue that they definitely do or don't make it in with these wins nobody really knows just curious what people thought.

What are your thoughts on the stokes situation having an impact on the committee.

Really depends on how we play down the stretch.
If Stokes gives us any wins we might not have gotten without him, I'd say he'll be a large influence if we make it into the 50s or 60s.
Ask me after tonight.

No I'm not referring to his help for us I'm asking his influence on the committee. Seth davis asked the question that since the NCAA take into considerations injury when picking teams(if you lost some games without a player they overlook it somewhat) will they do the same with a mid year addition like stokes. So pre-stokes we are 8-8 and have some bad losses, with stokes if we finish 10-5 with wins vs Uconn and at bama, that's puts us at 18-13, does the committee consider us a better team now, make any sense?

Thought I answered that. Yes. It would have to influence them on the bad losses.
That's why I say ask me after tonight.
If GA respects Stokes and pulls in their D to help, golden could drop 30 on them.
If they don't respect Stokes yet, our big boys will have a field day.
That would be the difference in earlier games, where they just used a balance D against us.

I must have missed it I apologize.

I'm very curious to see how opposing teams chose to play us now. We are going to have to hit the open outside shots or teams will just sag down. I found it amazing uk was doubling stokes in his first college gamec says a lot about him.

Speaks volumes for the kid's talent.
I'm getting ulcers in anticipation of future games to see how much he upgrades our play.

Think mcbee sees more minutes if the defense is doubling down in the post? Yea I'm bubbling over in anticipation o see how he effects the game tonight and how they chose to try and defend him.

Personally, I'd like to see them start out not respecting the freshmen.
His legs should be in much better shape this game. I'd like to see a Stoked EXPLOSION.

Seems like the clock doesn't move on days we're waiting for a game. I like those 11am starts.
Out of bed, drink a pot and set up the den for the game.

Unfortunately it sets the mood for the rest Of the day. A loss and I'm down for the day and bummed out, a win and I'm giddy like a school girl all day.

It is funny to see how the NCAA looks at rosters when seeding. If a star player goes down, your seed goes down. I always found this interesting.

That's what I'm saying about a couple of road upsets. Beating UK or UF on the road would be MAJOR. I also agree that we have to at least sweep Georgia and South Carolina. Splitting with Vandy works but we still need that big upset win against UK or UF. Beating Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, and Bama are must wins.
