Utie95 was very knowledgeable on the do's and don'ts of basketball. I said he was right three years ago and stand by it today.

Ok I'll man up since I thought IE was an idiot and I said that he was wrong. Because he was wrong, you don't fire a coach half way in the first season because they had a bad loss. So yes he was wrong at the time. I always said that I would give CCM until his 3rd year until I based my opinion on him...well it's the 3rd year and I think it's justifiable to say that he is a mediocre coach and isn't a fit here at UT.

We are talking about the "goodbye Cuonzo" thread right?

I think he was wrong and still do. Does 'Zo need to go soon... probably. Was UT IE 95 being a jerk at the time because the season wasn't going as planned. YES Did he ever say during our winning streak that he may need to back off a little. NO

Nobody thought it was going to be this way. To call him a genius is stupid. A person that runs their mouth to soon doesn't get the honor of being called right.

it wasnt just UT IE that saw signs early on......maybe others didnt break out the goodbye Zo threads. i had severe doubts his first yr.....1st thing was the lack of good man to man defense for a supposed defensive minded coach.....2nd was his 2nd recruiting class of Reese, Moore, Edwards......the signs were all there but some just didnt want to see them.

I believe IE is maybe in his 30's, so no.

LMAO.

UTIE was one of the most overly emotional posters on here. After every loss, he would go bezerko. While he will ultimately end up being right for UT to fire Martin, it wasn't right to fire him after not even a half of a season had been played out (and in the first year to boot). I'm sure we would've had all kinds of coaches beating down our doors after letting a guy go after a few months on the job because he lost to Austin Peay.

Just to fill everyone in that doesn't understand the OP...IE 95 started a "fire Cuonzo" thread after the Austin Peay loss. In hindsight yes he was right...3 years after the fact is justifiable, but 8 games into a coach's career is not right. So, no he wasn't right at the time, but if he made the same thread now he would be right because Cuonzo needs to go.

No, I disagree. He was wrong. It's never right to fire a coach 8 games into his career unless he gets charged with a felony or some other egregious type of crime. We all saw various signs of Martin not being a good coach, but you don't go and fire a coach that quick. He will be given 3 or 4 years. That's more than enough time to prove himself.
